Carson says an apologetic Cruz asked for a meeting at debate (busTED)
Washington Post ^ | 2/7/16 | Robert Costa

Ben Carson said late Saturday that Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas approached him during an off-camera break at ABC’s Republican debate to apologize for his campaign’s conduct during the Iowa caucuses and requested a one-on-one meeting with him.

“He said he’s sorry that this happened and he wants to sit down and talk,” Carson said in an interview with The Washington Post. “He wants to discuss the whole thing and clear the air.”

In the interview, Carson said pointedly that if the meeting with Cruz is scheduled, that does not mean the the senator will be absolved.

“The evidence is there,” he said, citing voice-mails that his campaign has released of Cruz allies telling caucus-goers that Carson was likely to suspend his bid. “Tapes, written communications, it’s all out there. People have to decide whether this kind of behavior is acceptable to them.”

CNN had an entire segment deconstructing Ted’s CaucusGate fib, after the debate. They gave CRuz a big, fat “F” on his weak excuse answer.

It’s not Ben’s fault that this isn’t going away.

BusTED is the one who approached Carson, for a private meeting, last night...not the other way around.

As more of the facts come out about what happened when....the mess that Carson’s campaign has been in for some time, Carson as his character are taking more and more of a hit. Hit is soon getting out, he should try to get out with his character intact.

I liked him a lot until his top advisors quit right before Christmas. Then I thought, wow what the heck is going on here. Then it all started to come out, Armstrong Williams, he of the Nation of Islam fame. This is all a diversion to steer people away from that whole scene.

More than likely Carson is happy this Cruz thing came up, now he can shift all the blame to a “cheating, slimey, politics as usual Cruz.”

“He is miffed that so many of his staffers quit his campaign and joined Cruz.”

How many of those staffers joined the Carson campaign with that in mind? How much inside information did the Cruz campaign have about Dr. Carson’s plans?

In other news:
Meet Chad C. Sweet, Ted Cruz’s campaign chairman, former DoD/CIA/Goldman Sachs/Homeland Security.

Sweet co-founded the Chertoff Group with former Bush and Obama administration Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff.

As a leader of the Chertoff Group, Sweet “advocated for expanding NSA metadata collection.”

Meet Ted’s ex-CIA PR guy, Dan P. Gabriel. Gabriel is involved in SIGINT aka interception - which is turned into propaganda. His twitter handle is @danpgabriel and he was one of the people pushing the angle that it was confirmed to the Cruz campaign that Carson was dropping out. After called out on the lie, the agent deleted the tweet and denies everything in typical spook fashion:

Trump went after Carson over facts laid out in Carsons book. Fair game.

Cruz blatantly committed voter fraud and lied about it. Would you be just as dismissive if a campaign did the same thing to Cruz?

Yeah, Mr. “vote fraud” mailers is always the “wronged party.” Wow. Cruz is not only doing himself a disservice-—because unlike Trump, who isn’t running as “St. Donald of Queens,” Cruz had tried to develop this holier than thou image. The mud does stick to him. But second, the comments of his supporters are extremely revealing. This isn’t the “Christian evangelicals” on parade. This is a bunch of angry, often vile people who will not brook any criticism of St. Ted.

Cruz wants Carson to drop it because it is hurting Cruz reputation.

Cruz ‘wronged’ the wrong person....Dr. Carson may be a lot of things, but a good, strong Christian man may forgive give but the rest of the people that found out about this won’t...

Cruz stood last night and blamed CNN for this, CNN will have Cruz’s head, he’s not going any where, nor will he ever be trusTED again...

Cruz did this all to himself, with his campaign staff, and he alone takes the blame for all of it....that’s the American way of life....

Yep. Ordinarily a meeting like this would be a seen as a good thing. A way to discuss a perceived wrong and try to fix a problem. A gentleman's way if you will.

Supporters of trumps will never see that. Carson would, I think, if he had not made a deal with someone else.

Meetings like this are an adult and professional path to understanding.

Oh please... if someone pulled this crappie on Cruz you and the other Cruzers would be going apesh*t over it and demanding Carson withdraw from the race.

Trump has pulled a lot worse not only on Cruz, but on Carson and others, and no one is calling for him to withdraw from the race. This is just more Alinsky tactics from Trump's left-leaning supporters.

It is ‘nuff said. Cruz is already paying the price for this crap. He’ll pay more, and the more his followers deny, the worse it gets. He could have handled this early, like the vote fraud letter. But handling a problem early doesn’t seem to be in his repertoire.

It’s not about Carson—it’s about Cruz and his underhanded campaign tactics. It’s the stain on his reputation that no scrubbing will erase the damage done to his saintly image.

Same here. That’s why CRuz looks so bad, in this. The fact that news outlets are continuing with this, tells me my eyes and ears....and Carson...are right.

Funny, I don’t recall Trump stealing any elections.

I see Cruz as the one with the exposed derierre. He could have skipped the lawyerly timeline and attempt to prove his “side” and let it go. But Cruz can’t ever lose a debate. He’d previously said his team did nothing wrong, so now if it’s something he feels the need to apologize for on national TV, when will someone his team be held accountable?

Cruz is the one with his butt hanging in the breeze until he admits his people screwed up and damaged his “friend”.

RedState....lol.

You do realize they’re owned by Salem Comm, right? (All of their outlets are all in for CRuz).

CNN’s report broke down the entire timeline.
