The Classiest Debate Moment That No-One Noticed – Never Leave A Good Man Down
theconservativetreehouse.com ^ | February 7

Few people will talk about this, and fewer will even want to acknowledge it, but what Donald Trump did before the debate even began shows the measure of a real man's worth.

Trump and Carson

At the beginning of the ABC debate, each of the candidates were being introduced in a specific order. The first name called to the stage was Chris Christie. The applause was loud and lingered through the time when Martha Raddatz called the second candidate Ben Carson.

Dr. Carson did not hear his name called (easy to understand why when you listen to the video) and stood in the entry-way. The moderators, with their backs to the candidates, didn't notice his absence and called the third name on the list, Ted Cruz.

Ted walked past Dr. Carson and onto the stage. Carson remained in the awkward, and embarrassing position, 'no-mans-land', on-camera but out of sight of the live audience.

What happened next shows the remarkable character of Donald Trump.

The fourth name called was Donald Trump, but by then the back-stage crew and candidates were aware of Dr. Carsons' position. Trump slowly approached, and then realized the embarrassing position of a fellow candidate hanging in the wind.

Trump showed his leadership by standing right next to his friend, and not walking onto the stage.

The other names continued to be called, and proceeded as mentioned. But not Donald Trump, he remained with his colleague thereby reducing the internal anxiety felt by Carson.

It would have been very easy for Trump to walk by Ben, just like all the other candidates did. But instead he chose to wait, and remove the embarrassment factor by infinite magnitudes.

Then, like a boss, when Dr. Carson was called to the stage, Trump waited and allowed Ben to get the audience response and appreciation. It takes a lot of courage to make split second decisions like this, and it shows a remarkable insight into the man's character.

If you watched the Trump rally just now you would have seen that suddenly they are panning the crowds.

I had a thought but was not sure so I turned to Mr. GG2 and said why do you think they are suddenly panning the crowd? Mr. GG2 said “because they realize they are looking at the next President of the United States and they don’t want to pizz him off” That was what I thought too.

Is that why there were dozens of articles about the same thing?

Your line of attack is not wooing any FReepers to Cruz, a candidate I have supported and may vote for in S.C.

That kind of behavior is what distinguishes true ladies and true gentlemen — doing whatever it takes to make others feel comfortable, and having empathy. And it appears that his children were raised to observe similar etiquette.

Yes especially the part about respecting the elderly.

Like using Atlantic City Politicians to try you steal an old women’s home and then lieing about it during a debate?

Or Bragging in his book about committing adultery repeatedly with married women ?

He’s sure is a peach isn’t he?

Would any of you think that is the way you want you Son In Law treating your daughter or teaching your grandkids that is acceptable behavior?

Conservative my butt. It’s nothing more than idolatry.

So north of 150 posts later, we get the truth from the poster.

It lied about what DJT said. He NEVER used the F-bomb at a rally attended by women & kids as he claimed earlier in the thread:

Because nothing says class more then dropping the F bomb at a rally attended by women and kids.

Or refering to Born Carson as a man with a mental disorder equivalent to a child molester.

Or bragging in his book banging married women while married himself .

Yes sir, he oozes class.

Jerry Springer show type class!

I didn’t thread-hop...I just waited for you to reveal yourself as nothing but a basic, garden variety slanderer and you proved me right.

Donald J. Trump did NOT launch the F-bomb at a rally in front of women & kids, let the record reflect.

It was the invention that exists only between the ears of a FR poster.

“You tell me - you're the expert.”

O.K. let me put the hay on the ground where the goats can reach it.

Trump - on national television - brought up about another presidential candidate going to the bathroom and said it was “disgusting”.

My post played off of Trump's statement. I wanted to see if Trump's fellow-travelers would recognize his crass and insensible grotesqueries if they heard it a second time.

Wrong again.

I saw Trump’s comments. At one of his rallies, he said that discussing where Hillary had disappeared to during her debate would be “disgusting.”

There’s a difference there.

The writer must be living in a very liberal world where most people are selfish. It was fine either to wait or to go ahead on stage when your name is announced. This was not a watershed moment revealing of ones character. These were gentlemen behaving accordingly.

I have not committed myself to Trump,or anyone else, but what elderly abuse? I’ve never seen anything about that.

You're wasting your time on that clown of the class of 2013, they're only clever by half. I suspect they sniff of their own flatulence and proclaim something like "January 2016, a very good month."

Let them marinade in their own Trump-hatred.

Looks good on 'em.

Look, I know that whatever foul-mouth Trump says is OK with you, I was referring to saying it in front of children. I know you think that Trump is presidential. I think that crap belongs on a double bill with “Dice” Clay.

Just as with during debate applause and it overriding what candidates are saying, I think debates and such events should hold all applause until all folks are introduced and then hold all applause until the end.

Agreed, this was bad stagecraft by the crew.

I was impressed by Trump's graciousness in handling the situation.
