OREGON STANDOFF: Four remain under FBI siege, disputing PPN, Pete Santilli's arrest-First Amendment
2/8/2016 | Self

Posted on 02/08/2016 6:00:02 AM PST by Nextrush

At the outset, lets remember the four people who are still occupying the Harney County Resource Center (Malheur National Wildlife Refuge). There are a lot of people out there who want you to forget them, including some calling themselves their friends.

David Fry

Sean Anderson

Sandy Anderson

Jeff Banta

Are they heroes, outlaws, or is one or more them working for the FBI?

When you consider what they are doing now in comparison with the unusual activities of the "Pacific Patriots Network" in recent days, I'd say they are at least consistent right or wrong.

David Fry came out with new videos yesterday from the inside defiant and disputing what has been said in recent days by the Pacific Patriots Network. Fry said that PPN was spreading 'lies' and was 'compromised'.

The PPN had said they could not march into the refuge to get the people out on Saturday because the four had said they would "resist" any attempt to remove them.

Here is part of what David Fry said in a phone call he got out from the siege and was posted yesterday as a video on You Tube.

'.....We are not threatening people coming to this place. We never talked to PPN, we never made conversation with PPN....them making up lies about us, you know telling everyone to stand down after they had communication with us those are absolute lies, PPN is compromised absolutely and then to lie about us wanting to shoot all the people who are coming to escort us out absolutely a lie too. There's a whole bunch of lies going on. We're not going to shoot our own team, we're not going to...we don't plan on shooting anybody...we only plan to defend ourselves if the FBI came in and started to raid us or take us out of here... hell I don't know where these lies are coming from, but its obviously there's a lot of FBI trolls and shills and a bunch of misinformation people out there that are spreading that kind of stuff...."

In another video clip Fry was on camera saying he had just spoken with Rev. Franklin Graham. Of Graham, Fry said 'basically....he's a pretty good guy'.

Franklin Graham is reported to be a mediator in the FBI siege. His spokesman told the media last week Graham was talking to federal authorities and the four people still occupying the refuge.

Fry also called on federal authorities to 'get the hell out of Oregon' and for 'good people' to tell the 'evil' people to 'p**s off'.

Another video features an improvised sign declaring the occupation site "Camp Finicum" in honor of LaVoy Finicum, fellow occupier killed during an FBI led operation to arrest him on January 26th.

Fry smells the FBI in PPN, but maybe they do the work of the GOP to keep a lid on protests and discredit them for the sake of peace in election years. JFK undermined Martin Luther King's Albany, GA protests in 1962 and sent the FBI after MLK in 1963 for the sake of the Democrat Party.

I am not for violence, I prefer non-violence and will stand by my convictions in the midst of this, but will not be silent about the federal control of the western lands and the western farmers and ranchers, driving them into what amount to "reservations" and destroying their way of life like Native Americans were in a previous age.

The Burns Piute Indians hearken to the past in their attack on Ammon Bundy and the occupation of the refuge published over the weekend by "OregonLive/The Portland Oregonian". They speak of their past possession of the land before others took it and they also have accused the occupation of desecrating artifacts of their tribe.

Early in the occupation, Ammon Bundy told the media that he was concerned about the issues the Piutes raised and was "reaching out" to the tribe.

Perhaps the problem with these Native Americans is that their leadership is really politically biased towards the Left and dependent on the federal government for their existence. So we get a denunciation of the occupation.

The educational efforts of the occupation that Ammon Bundy wanted to spread included the notion that land should be under local control, not federal control in Harney County.

In that context perhaps the concerns of the Native Americans could be taken into account.

Getting back to David Fry, I wanted to share his sentiments during an interview conducted last Monday.

Fry's observations about the media and politics in this country startled the heck out of me.

"....The media..they've got everything, they've got everybody all divided into Republicans and Democrats and they've got the media for the Republicans and the media for the Democrats. The people need to realize that the media is keeping the people arguing for stupid little reasons and they keep people divided constantly so, so that the powers that be the main people pulling the strings always have power over the people because the people are fighting and people need to get past that, the environmentalists you know their Democrats, I love the Democrats and Republicans, they both have traits that are needed, but they both equally have bad traits and so when one president, you know when one president.uh when one president... Republicans..the bad traits of that side is exposed and then it goes back to the Democrats....the Democrats are exposed and keeps bobbing back and forth..."

David Fry interview 2/1/2016

Its hard for me, someone who believes we have a Uniparty of pretend differences exaggerated by media between the two major parties, to disagree with that portion of Mr. Fry's opinion.

I see a 100 percent bad Democrat Party and a 95 percent bad Republican Party. I happen to support Cruz for President and might support Trump, beyond that I see nothing good running for POTUS.

Deb Jordan, an associate of Pete Santilli, posted a video Saturday night. She's been visiting the online broadcaster in jail telling viewers: "I'm live from Portland, Oregon where Pete is being held a political prisoner...."

Santilli and the others arrested last month like Ammon Bundy are being held at the Multnomah County Jail in Portland, the holding facility for federal prisoners in Portland. They are in solitary confinement separated from the other prisoners. Jordan says she believes its for the best, not knowing how the other prisoners might react. For most of the time, up to 23 hours a day, the prisoners are in their cells.

Pete Santilli's prosecution for his videos on the occupation has apparently caught the eye of the American Civil Liberties Union. Jordan says they are joining with Santilli's lawyer Tom Cohen in his defense.

Freedom of Speech, which is Santilli's First Amendment right, appears to be under attack with his indictment for involvement in the occupation of the wildlife refuge based on his videos.

Jordan says in the video discussing Pete Santilli's case: "it sets a precedence for everybody who practices free speech, everybody who is a podcast journalist or a You Tuber, anything like that you know if you're a freelance, independent this case should interest you because what happens here is what the country is going to go by in the long run is what we're thinking..."

She also said: "I'm going to be reaching out to a few people here in the next few days, people that I normally wouldn't be reaching out to but it's important that people in alternative media understand what's happening here and how this is going to affect them in the future, anybody who goes to any kind of protest and they report live and may have an opinion or they're sympathetic to the cause they're going to be running the risk of being surveilled by the FBI and the government building a case against them as journalists just because they are sympathetic or supportive."

I can add from my own experience watching radio preacher Dr. Carl McIntire have his radio station shut down by the Federal Communications Commission on Fairness Doctrine grounds in 1973 these words from the preacher himself.

"Freedom is everybody's business, your business, my business, the church' business and a man who will not use his freedom to defend his freedom, does not deserve his freedom."

Also....Ammon Bundy phoned from jail to thank those who have contributed to his legal defense a defense he described this way: "We stand on the very position that we have the right to redress our government officials, that we have the right to assemble peacefully and that we have the right to bear arms." Bundy said his legal defense fund hopes to use its resources to answer questions about federal land ownership and help expose the injustices done to the jailed Harney County ranchers-the Hammonds (Dwight and Steven).

A lot has come down over the weekend on the situation in Oregon.

God Bless America and hopefully more will wake up to the situation unfolding as described in this post.

I hope for peaceful resistance including unarmed people subjecting themselves to arrest at the refuge siege perimeter but accept that things could go bad. I hope not and pray not.

My money would be on the guy who bailed on the fatal car ride at the last moment. But if history is any guide, it could be that most of them are on the payroll.

The Klan was deeply infiltrated by the FBI and quite a few FBI informants were planted around Martin Luther King back in the 1960’s.

MLK picked out some trusted people and went to a secluded place to plan the protests at Birmingham in 1963.

The Birmingham protest was utterly successful in moving the cause of racial equality forward.

Those protests were a pivotal moment in history that shook the nation to its core and got the Kennedy Administration into gear using the FBI to directly spy on Martin Luther King’s phone calls and hotel rooms.

Outrage over Bull Connor’s backlash on the protests unfortunately did lead to a cycle of violence and bitterness which has lingered on for decades, but I won’t blame that on MLK, it wasn’t his intention.

Bad operation gone sour, and they are psychologically unable to let go of it because of the homicide of their friend. They’d get far more exposure through a lawsuit over the wrongful death of Finicum.

Lawsuits are nice but I sense a desire not to be put in jail and denied their rights to vote and own firearms based on my viewing of the Anderson’s video I mentioned in an earlier post.

A lot of people on the outside who claimed to be their friends don’t want any armed response to the area to support the people at “Camp Finicum”.

I agree with the letter of the idea but not the spirit.

These people were left under the impression they would have armed backup in a pinch and when the pinch came the backup didn’t come probably because the Pacific Patriots Network group was ‘compromised’ as David Fry put it in his video.

He says FBI, I think it could be the Republican Party fronting to keep the lid on anything politically embarrassing like violence from the militia side and to organize a group of people who will vote GOP in local, state and federal elections.

Unarmed people should get out there in front of the cameras with all the risks involved, perhaps. If the FBI and OSP go rough on them, its their fault.

I feel for them. I really do.

But, if an operation hasn’t gone off the way you’d planned it, then there is no shame in calling it off. In fact, it’s better to call it off. A retreat is not always a bad thing. It gives time to reconstitute, reconsider, and plan for a better day.

The four folks there at the refuge (Camp Finicum) need some honest backup instead of folks who promised them things that were not delivered.

I think some of those who claimed to be their friends betrayed them, either because of loyalty to the FBI (spies, informants) or to the Republican Party IMHO instead of other means to resist the federal land policies in the West and the renewed imprisonment of the Hammonds.

The FBI side already went violent killing LaVoy Fincicum and injuring Ryan Bundy, these people haven’t.

Acts of love would be a heck of a lot better than acts of violence in this situation, I’m sure of that.

Well, someone had to take King out for a breath of fresh air on the Memphis motel balcony. No one wanted to stand too close and block the breeze.

If the FBI had wanted to go Waco on them, they would have taken out the whole carload. They only took out the guy who promised to not be taken alive. And now, it looks like the remaining folks have made the same promise.

In any event, a good prosecutor could hang a murder rap on all of the folks involved based on the death of Fincicum. They certainly haven't been over-charged at this point.

Well, then, get them out of there.

Can Franklin Graham accomplish that?

You’re reading my mind.

When I think of Franklin Graham, I think of his background of being on the rough side himself like David Fry and the others there.

Franklin was like quite a few preacher’s kids who sowed their ‘wild oats’ then came ‘back to the fold’.

Of course, the monster in me always rears its ugly head. I want to associate Franklin’s father with the established politicians in this country who in most cases have led us on a dark path.

I was “indoctrinated” to dislike Dr. Billy Graham in my youth by the radio preachers who felt he was a ‘compromiser’.

That idea was wrong, God as I understand God chooses to work according to His ways, not my prideful and vain notions.

I don’t know the answer but Franklin Graham is operating on a higher plane than others have in this situation and I hope the feds might let him in for face to face contact.

As I understand it, their firefighter’s shack is also considered a legitimate refuge for the stranded, lost, wandering, etc? Even if not, it hasn’t hurt a soul that those folks have camped there.

Charge them KOA rates, if necessary, and send them home.

If I were governor, I’d do all that and have them gone, uncharged with anything, inside of 24 hours. I’d even pay their KOA rates.

James Earl Ray was portrayed as a lone actor whose hatred and criminal record spoke to his ability to commit the crime.

But there has been talk of a conspiracy in the MLK assassination.

The Kennedy Family has done a better job with their connections in spreading the conspiracy notion around for the JFK Assassination.

Jackie felt that in her heart from the beginning and was listing MLK essentially as an enemy when she disparaged his secret sex life in her January 1964 recording with historian Arthur Schlesinger discussing all adversaries of JFK.
