The actual scripture concerning this is not as clearly biased to punishment as many vengeance-hearted would want.

I have always believed in comparing scripture to scripture. Bring Psalm 23 into the picture and it becomes apparent that quite often the rightful use of the rod is not to punish at all (hardly a “comforting” use) but to drive away baleful influences.

You are being an example of a baleful influence. Nothing like this could ever go down in this society and even the most rock ribbed GOP would not dare to vote for it. This is asking for the vengeance dynamic of Bolshevik vs. Menshevik.

Thank you for posting this article....not only do we that go to the Tree House read this, it’s good for many more people know what the Bush Family is and how they have done things...

The GOPe might think he’s a good guy as they are trying to make us believe, but he’s weak, that is one of the reasons he didn’t try to save Terry...

I would never vote for the man, mainly because I don’t think he could be the President to bring America back to life, and he’s an open borders person, who I don’t like...

That’s disingenuous. It’s not the whole story on that lady.

She was coaxed by her family to hold out for more after Trump was willing to pay her many times than it was worth and even offered her free housing for life.

This is peanuts compared to what the Bush dynasty did to many hundreds of folks.

I don't knowif Florida should have done this, but it was for alleged agricultural safety, not to line the pockets of cronies.

I'd say that if you as a commercial 'grower' can eliminate hundreds of thousands of 'privately' owned tress, then your 'product' becomes more valuable.

Now, WHO convinced Bush to go out and and destroy all the private trees in order to protect the COMMERCIAL TREES ?

Would that be the cronies who would benefit ?

I don't think the 'private' owners requested this to be done in the name of 'agricultural safety', do you ?

Ping to #15

Let’s not forget that other brilliant Bush, 43, wrote a Friend of the Court Appeal to the supreme court that sided with the eventual outcome of Kelo vs. New London Ct..

It sucked to be her, letting her family coax her into pulling out of a very good deal

Is it true that Trump offered to pay the old lady who refuse to leave at a much higher price for the property she own, but when Trump lost the law suit, the old lady left anyway and sold her property at a much lower price ?

No. He offered her up to 4 times the market value. Her son told her to refuse because he thought he could scam more money out of Trump for his mom's house.

Trump decided to turn it over to his lawyers. They tried to use eminent domain and the court order was denied because they didn't specify exactly what the land use would be for.

So, no deal.

Later the old lady died, the son inherited the house, and he eventually sold it on the market for about 1/4 of what it was worth.

You were pretty close, but I thought you might want to know the correct details.

OUCH!

And we thought the Eminent Domain to get land for The Ballpark at Arlington was a dark spot in Bush family history.

I am well aware that what I proposed has no chance of being implemented in today’s society, I was simply using it as a justifiable usage of eminent domain. Certainly, “we’re too stupid to protect our citrus plants from a [possibly fabricated] disease, so we need to destroy your plants to save ours” is an unjustifiable usage of eminent domain, I think every non-troll here agrees.

It could be argued that preventing Leftists from bringing their plans to fruition is merciful towards them, as Leftists can frequently be ruined by their own plans. There is certainly a place for mercy, but mercy is not synonymous with capitulation, as many Leftists would believe with their misquotation of “turn the other cheek”.

Yeah, that’s the big issue of our time, its not as people believe our flooding borders, or insane trade with China and South Asian Countries, its Trump using Eminent Domain. Next on their lunatic agenda, getting rid of Unconstitutional Drivers Licenses, and those Satanic Social Security numbers.

Is this the GOPe’s best shot?

Hyperventilating over Trump’s failed attempt to pay literally 10 times too much for a little old lady’s home?

She sold out in 2014....

Carl Icahn won the property at auction, $530,000 in 2014

She was 1 Million in 1992 by Donald Trump....

The Lady isn’t dead yet, she lives in California in a Nursing home that her family put her in.

Trump did not turn it over to his lawyers and Trump, a private citizen can NOT use eminent domain.

The Atlantic City Casino redevelopment corp filed eminent domain charges. Atlantic City lost

Trump was negotiating before, during and after the eminent domain proceedings.

Where did you get any of your information?

It is incorrect

The lady is still alive

And the son did not sell the house, the auction house sold on behold of old lady that was still alive.

She even made a public offer a few years ago to Trump for that million dollars..... But he wasn’t interested anymore.

It sold for $530,000 so I would say it was worth that. Still no where near what Trump offered her in the 90’s. A million dollars in 1992, invested properly would be almost 10 million today. This lady was a fool

Canker is still a problem, though not nearly as bad as citrus greening.
