Someone can be incapable of managing their funds but not be dangerous, violent or unsafe.
Such as seniors with poor memories still having check books using duplicate check copies in their checkbooks to keep from forgetting to log written checks, or seniors who never could balance a checkbook.

I do not own any of my guns. Some of what I might have had outlived their owners by decades - others that I may have had are younger, sure to outlive me. Yet, they will still exist - somewhere.

I personally have first hand knowledge of an inadvertent Murder of Spouse by a mentally compromised Veteran. A WWII vet mistook his own wife for an intruder, shot and killed her, and then calmly called 911 to report the event, when the Police got there, he still thought he had shot an intruder.
When one is a Neurologist, one hears some very scary stories... This one was the patient of a partner. I was on call that night and it was... unpleasant.

I got one of these ‘Community Surveys” a few years ago and ran it through the shredder.

Where are you getting this information from? Hasn’t happened to either my husband or myself this year or any other year.
Sounds like two different things.
The Community Survey is basically the intrusive long form sent out by the Census Bureau to some, but not all, households.
What Essie is talking about is an intrusive form doctors give to their patients who are over 65. I’ve never heard of this form, then again, I am under the age of 65.
Perhaps this form is something new, just ramping up.
