Breaking: First South Carolina Poll after NH (Trump 36 Cruz 19 Rubio 15 Bush 11)
OpinionSavvy ^

Coming hot off his win in New Hampshire -and with a significant amount of his time devoted to South Carolina- it’s little surprise that Trump is 16-17 points ahead. It appears that the only demographics that Trump isn’t currently winning are 18-29 year-old voters and self-described “very liberal” voters, who prefer Rubio and Kasich, respectively. Evangelists prefer Trump to Cruz by a margin of 10 points – a significant change from Iowa, where Cruz led with evangelical voters by four points.

When respondents were asked of their second choice for the nomination, Rubio and Cruz command the first and second spots (within 2 points), with others trailing closely.

The poll was conducted for the Augusta Chronicle, Morris News Service, and Fox 5 Atlanta.

Trump can’t get over 1/3 and his negatives are huge. That’s why he’s very nervous and continues to attack conservatives.

Lying is still a sin.

They were the only polling firm that got Scott Brown correct, but 538 rates them a D in polling.

Cruz can’t get over 1/5. I’d rather be in Trump’s position quite frankly.

Thanks for the explanation.

I didn’t understand how SC allocated delegates.

It’s WTA with overall and district components.

The right of center half of the US electorate has a big problem here. 2/3 of them don’t like Trump but can’t decide on one champion to support. 1/3 love Trump, and will be very very angry if he’s not the nominee, to the point of splitting the party in twain.

Last night's rally had amazing energy. 11,000 inside, 4,000 outside, and 12,500 on the RSB live stream.

And probably mirrors Trumps internal data that drove his campaign to dial back the attacks on Cruz, which probably are not needed and might alienate a few voters.

I am a Trump supporter, though I prefer Cruz. I must say that Trump is coming dangerously close to alienating me with these immature attacks.

If his negatives have meaning why did he get one less delegate than Cruz in IA and blow out NH??

I think those negative ratings are bunk.

Trump can’t get over 1/3

Maybe, but he has more than a 20 point lead over the others. What does that say about the other candidates?
