Kasich works to assure South Carolina of conservative record

An energized John Kasich heads into South Carolina's Republican presidential primary hoping to build on a strong showing in New Hampshire, but he's refusing to tailor or shift his message to fit the state's more conservative electorate.

"People told me: 'They're really conservative down there,'" Kasich joked to a crowd Wednesday in Mount Pleasant, his first campaign stop in the state since a debate in mid-January. "And I'm like, 'wait a minute, people are people - we all have the same concerns.'" [...]

... From the Carolinas west to Oklahoma and Texas, none of the GOP-run states has embraced Medicaid expansion, and several of Kasich's Southern counterpart governors have been openly hostile to President Barack Obama's health care law, calling it a federal overreach - and worse.

But Kasich isn't backing down, arguing his decision has helped people suffering from mental illnesses or drug addiction and is a good deal for the state in the long run. ...

SC only has a reputation for “conservatism”. Look at their officeholders!

would be a good Trump VP.. would definitely take Ohio in the general and would know how to work closely with Congress to pass Trump’s wall and other economic priorities

Kasich used to have a reputation for conservatism . . . . 20 years ago. Something happened to him over the past decade to turn him Liberal.

Kasich is at 9 percent, and 5th place in the latest SC poll. His problem is that he doesn’t have a year in which to camp out in SC like he did in NH. He’s only got another week to go.

people are people - we all have the same concerns

Problem for Kasuck is that the primary concern this time around is fraudulently documented foreigners ignoring our laws and he’s on their side.

Was it deserved? especially after voting for (not against) the ban on “assault weapons” back in 1994?

Terrorists are people too, but they sure don’t have the same concerns as Americans do.

Kasich was best friends with Gary Condit. They were always eating together and they hung out and partied together. Condit enjoyed wild sex. He waxed his full body, went to orgy parties wearing leather chaps. He enjoyed 2 man 1 woman threesomes. When Condit’s intern girlfriend mysteriously disappeared and Condit’s alibis were full of lies, Kasich disappeared from DC like a bat out of hell, and immediately married and had twins.

I’d still like to know more about that innocent friendship.

Trump will just have to have a little talk with him.. LOL

I think Kasich would see it Trump’s way to be on the ticket.. he’s ready to do something else other than be governor.. he is a decent man and I really think he would be a Yuge asset for Trump in dealing with Congress.. I would think too Gingrich would make a great person for Trump to rely on.. maybe chief adviser

Kasich four days ago........”I’m a good middle ground between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders”

Can’t be repeated enough and I would like to know if he really thinks this, why isn’t he running against them as a democrat?

In the same Q&A, IIRC, Kasich “joked” that he “ought to be” a candidate in “the Democratic primary”.

No, Kasich is not a decent man. He is a liar and a backstabbbin pimp who while in Congress voted for Clintons semi-auto ban! Do not trust this pimp! He portrays himself as a fiscal conservative but is an extreme liberal who embraced Obamacare for Ohio.

I like Kasich. Trump too boorish for me. Cruz too dark. Rubio wants to ho to war with Syria.....so it’s process of looking at different candidates.
