I would hope that if we had a president we liked right now that he would be prepared to nominate someone after a decent interval. If we were only a month away from an election, that might be too short time-wise, but we’re talking a little over 8 months at this point. It’s unrealistic to expect any president to not at least try to fill such an important position as soon as possible.The Senate should not hold confirmation hearings in an election year. That said, I know old Mitch will give Obama everything he wants and the country loses BIGTIME!
