Online poll: Trump up by 22 points in SC

Republican primary front-runner Donald Trump leads GOP field in South Carolina by 22 points ahead of the next  GOP primary, according to a new poll.

The CBS News “Battleground Tracker” poll released on Sunday morning shows Trump with 42 percent support.

He’s followed by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) with 20 percent support, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) with 15 percent support and Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R), who has seen a small surge after his second-place showing in New Hampshire, with 9 percent support.

Cruz wins a plurality of voters who describe themselves as “very conservative,” but trails Trump among conservatives overall and moderate Republicans.

The billionaire businessman is also bolstered by an anti-establishment sentiment in the Palmetto State, with respondents by a four-to-one margin describing the “establishment” as a bad thing.

Just 11 percent said the current crop of politicians in Washington knows how to get things done, while 45 percent said they are tired of business as usual.

The online CBS News poll surveyed 1,315 registered voters in South Carolina. It has a margin of error of 5.7 percent.

LOL...there wasn't ever an "old" Camelot in America; that was thought up and pushed by Jackie, many, many, many, MANY months after Jack had been buried!

During Jack's 1,000 days...even the N.Y. Times wanted his scalp; he was a FAILING president! He was in Dallas, that fateful day, ONLY because he was going to lose Texas ( even WITH LBJ and his manipulations and voter fraud ! ) and most of the rest of the nation's vote, come election time.

I’ve been getting e-mails from Cruz addressed to “Thomas”. That’s not my name, plus I’m a female.

I sent $20 to Cruz when he was running for the Senate. Now all day long I’m having to delete his e-mails begging for money. The most annoying are from Heidi.

You have no problem with his wife working for Goldman Sachs for $800,000 per year? It makes him a puppet.

Pray America wakes

Cruz is an oily career politician who will tell people what he thinks they want to hear.. Trump is a problem solver who tells you what he thinks and then let’s you decide

.......destroying 50 year of Progressive domination of the Republic is so not Conservative!....

Yeah....LOL.

==============================================

Wish we could get this on a bumper sticker: To those reading this who were not duped by the Clinton Crime Family, and the Chicago Political Machine in the WH, you must admit you/ve been deceived by greasy pols who told you they were on your side to get your vote.

For Cruz to ace SC he/d have to resort to even dirtier tricks than he used in Iowa. Cruz/s incessant overbearing campaign seems to be determined to prove something to himself. Maybe its a Canadian-latino/s lack of self-esteem. Who knows? But the Oval Office is definitely not the place to go find your human potential.

==============================================

An oft-repeated FR rant is from those who say they don/t like Cruz but don/t know why. The reasons for those lingering doubts and why he isn't doing better in SC:

<><> Cruz/s industrial strength narcissistic personality.

<><> his lifelong self-absorption.

<><> putting himself first above others, always acting as
if he were better and smarter than the rest of humanity....

<><> a snob in spades....feeling he is destined for great things.

<><> Cruz wouldn/t play team sports b/c he/d share the glory with others.

<><> His vaunted debate championship was not in the National Debate Tournament of 2-person teams;

<><> Cruz debated in a Canadian tournament where he received all the credit himself.

<><> his reputation in the Senate....where most of his Senate colleagues despise him....is well-deserved. (hat tip bigbob)

It must have caused you to think sinful thoughts. However, you won’t need to go to confession if you just contemplate being propositioned by a nekkid Hillary.

Good poll, however, though it was released after the debate, the poll was taken before the debate.

Ted Cruz is the only candidate that I trust not to let me down once in the White House and I fully anticipate Donald Trump to betray his gullible conservative supporters if he were to be in the White House. Your sarcastic condescension regarding Cruz’ efforts against the establishment leaders in his own party are not only unfounded and highly disrespectful but discouraging to other members and future members of elected office willing to stand on their principles. Furthermore, your dishonest attacks against Ted Cruz regarding “dirty tricks” are completely unfounded and libelous. Invoking Nixon demonstrates that this is little more than cheap propaganda. Otherwise, feel free to give me five examples and further show a correlation to something Nixon did in the past.

The billionaire that exaggerates his own net worth by 100% and seems intent on being the next Narcissist-in-Chief copied off of Ted Cruz’ pledge to build a wall during his campaing for the US Senate and his legislative efforts to achieve it in 2013 while Donald Trump was meeting with dreamers and telling them they had “convinced” him noting that lots of them work for him in Miami to keep his lawn looking great. You also seem confused regarding the elimination of federal regulations, which Ted Cruz has addressed repeatedly but that wouldn’t be the first time Trump supporters fantasize that the liberal Democrat from New York is a conservative. The audacity of mentioning Common Core is incredible given that Trump said he would keep it while campaigning in SC but in reality doesn’t even know what it is. Of course you don’t acknowledge Ted Cruz’ opposition or pledge to end it along with the Department od Education. As to your final and most laughable pitch, that Trump would end millions of government jobs, this is yet more fantasizing that ignores his the fact he supports a complete government takeover of healthcare.

Its absurd that you can pretend that a liberal NY Democrat that has contributed to the Clinton Crime Family, as you call it, spent years courting Hillary Clinton, thousands of dollars in political contributions to Democrats including Rahm Emanuel (Chicago Political Machine), is now the man that will end progressive domination in DC! Additionally, please elaborate on the “Bush Crime Family” remark and how it is you claim they fooled me despite the fact you know nothing about me. You can pump Trump while conservative activists that see through ridiculous and opportunistic flip-flopping of the Donald will work at the grassroots and on the ground to see Ted Cruz through to the nomination.

Donald Trump supports the unconstitutional Assault Weapon Ban and the fact that he thought his progressive sister and judicial extremist sister would be “phenomenal” on the Supreme Court is evidence enough that a formerly registered Democrat and liberal from New York with a wonderful relationship, as he boasted, with Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid is an eminent danger to the second amendment.
