Ted Cruz fires back at Trump for lawsuit threat and name-calling
FoxNews Lation ^ | February 16, 2016/

With the Republican primary in South Carolina just days away, Ted Cruz has stepped up his fight with Donald Trump, who is threatening to sue him unless he stops airing what the billionaire candidate calls "false ads" and retracts what he called a series of lies.

Cruz questioned both Trump's conservative credentials and whether he had the temperament to be president.

"The people of South Carolina want a consistent conservative they can trust," Cruz told reporters before his rally in Aiken.

Cruz, who is trying to weaken Trump's standing among South Carolina's social conservatives and evangelical Christians, also released a new television ad attacking Trump, showing footage of him praising Planned Parenthood and Hillary Clinton. It ends with the line, "South Carolina cannot trust Donald Trump."

Trump is challenging Cruz's eligibility to serve in the White House, calling him "the most dishonest guy I think I've ever met in politics."

"I think he's an unstable person," he said, later declaring: "He's nuts."

. . . Snip . . .

Cruz also blasted Trump's sister, a federal appellate judge, calling her a "radical pro-abortion extremist" who should not be considered for the Supreme Court vacancy.

Trump's sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, is a judge on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia. Trump has said she would make a good justice, but Cruz said she would not be a good choice, citing an opinion she wrote in 2000 that held a New Jersey law banning late-term abortions placed an "undue burden" on a woman's constitutional right to have the procedure.

Cruz then pointed at Trump's apparent confusion during a Republican debate last year over what constituted the nuclear triad as an example of how the real estate mogul is unprepared to be president.

I'm getting kinda tired of all this crap.

That jug-eared dumb ass obonzo is openly mocking not only the candidates, but the people that would eventually vote for them...and these two are expending energy trying to slit the others throat.

Quite frankly, I think it's beneath the both of them and they really need to knock the shit off.

I'm losing the respect I had for them.

I heard Trump say after the last debate, when asked by CNN, that it would be a conflict of interest for him to nominate his sister.

Yeah. I guess Trump could have told the reporters that his sister was the devil. You guys are taking the wrong road on this. Nobody is going to be concerned with a brother giving is OLD as HELL sister....79 years old a bit of a good pat on the back. Of course this is number 1 reason Cruz is losing South Carolina because he is going after Trump for the dumbest things.

That’s normal for Trump... in the same 4 months he has two positions on the same thing.

Can’t trust Trump to pick a Supreme Court Justice. How would he explain his selection to his upper east side NY friends of which he has “hundreds
“. Let’s all face it. Trump must be liked in his NYC world.

Back in happier days before Cruz told Trump he was running for Prez and not for Trump's VP.

Geraldo Rivera is a lawyer and lives in NY City.... Maybe Trumpy could nominate him to the supreme court.

I merely observed nobody asked you to support Trump.

When you stated you didn’t need anyone’s permission, I merely pointed out nobody sought to give you permission.

I’m not sure what you’re so upset about.

Continue on disliking Trump for all I care.

Just don’t think the whole forum is holding it’s breath, worrying about what you’re going to do.

Ted Cruz must not leave the field of battle. He must continue until he defeats the blowhard phony Trump, and then take on whatever loon the Democrats nominate. Trump is great practice.

It will be interesting to watch the reaction here when Trump files a lawsuit challenging Cruz’s eligibility after South Carolina.

I cannot fathom how any conservative can support Trump

Well, it's simple. You see, we've been betrayed by "conservatives", who were elected in massive landslides of 1994, 2010, and 2014 with virtually nothing to show for it.

The people who are voting for Trump are not playing the Republican game again. We're not holding our noses. And we don't care about Trump's liberal past. He's in favor of securing the border, beating the terrorists, and reining in the national debt. That's good enough for us.

Then allow me to clarify my point.

One needs an actual argument, and having facts help, to be convincing with the 'liar' charge.

Stupid cartoons aren't usually enough.

Got to keep them New York values. You can take the Donald out of New York, but you can’t take the New York out of the Donald.

Considering it would mean the end of Trump’s campaign, I don’t think it would go over well with you.
