McConnell is probably composing his “excuse” for caving right now.
Sandra Day O’Connor stuck the knife in and twisted it yesterday when she called for Obama to get his pick. It won’t be long before the turtle rolls over.

Seems to me that that Senate Republicans acquiescing to a hearing
and a vote is a good strategy. Just go through the motions
And delay with technicalities and procedures. Take it off the table and get past November.

Send him a msg.. here is the gist of mine
I have been a life long Republican, voted for Regan in ‘84 (first election I could)
I have seem my party up and down, and right now I fear for it the senate is the last bulwark against the presidents making the us supreme court his personal gift to the American left for decades to come.
STAND FIRM do not have a single hearing much lest a vote on any candidate he sends forth.
And please tell Sen. Grassley to quit acting like this is a neutral procedural matter !

Harry Reid predicts Mitch McConnell will 'cave' on Supreme Court nominee We ALL knew that Harry.
To: SeekAndFind
I think it is most probable, that Obama will appoint someone so far out there on his first nominee, that it will endear his base to him, but allow R’s to reject it.
This of course is part of the deal.
The second nominee will be a leftist as well, but more palatable, and the R’s will begrudgingly go along with it, citing “we need to do this, because if Hillary or Bernie wins, imagine what will be appointed?”
All part of the kabuki theater.
