Marco Rubio's last-minute cancellation at a conservative confab Thursday night instantly became fodder for rival candidate Ted Cruz, with the event's pro-Cruz organizer calling it "pretty damn rude."
"This is the final admission that Marco Rubio isn't even going to try to compete for the votes of conservatives in South Carolina or anywhere else," Cruz communications director Rick Tyler asserted in a statement.

"Did the Cruz campaign really take a break from photoshopping pictures and recording false robocalls to send out this false press release?" Conant said in a statement. "This ridiculous attack is just the latest example of Ted Cruz's willingness to do or say anything in this campaign."
Cruz took the stage and earned a warm reception from what was clearly a friendly crowd for the Texas senator. Levin took the stage following the senator and immediately swiped at Rubio.
"Marco Rubio, will you raise your hand?" he said. "He was supposed to be here. Probably went to McDonald's."

Amen, I would add facebook to the list also. Every post is a defence of Cruz and an attack on anyone that said something negative about Cruz. The Cruz-Levin bromance is almost as bad as Cruz-Beck.
Levin isn’t very smart. His books have lots of padding and aren’t exactly academic. He is popular because the right wing has a brain power vacuum amongst our leadership.
A candidate has no obligation to run to an enemy HQ and let them ambush him. Better to expose their agenda first and attack that base, not walk in unarmed.
Why go to an event where there is not even a pretext of objectivity? Add to that very few people will see it and the only thing you would be doing is giving Levin credibility and it becomes a no-brainer. Rubio would be better served going to another rally.
Not only can Rubio not handle anyone who openly disagrees with him, but look how quickly he got taken in by the Amnesty pushers (”come join us in the Gang of 8, son! We love you!”). He’s as naive as a newborn baby.
You who support tRump have no business calling Levin not very smart. tRump couldn’t keep up with Mark if he was given all the answers in advance.
Mark has been here year after year supporting conservatism, while tRump was busy partying with Rats and supporting them with his money. It’s a laugh that you think the Donald is going to fill our supposed “brain power vacuum”.
Just because Mark doesn’t support your boss is know reason to claim he needs to be crushed. Not that either you or the Donald could even come close to doing that.
The set up event was more rude than not showing up for his execution.
Lets look at it this way. Would you go somewhere you are not wanted, only to be used as a instrument to prop up someone else? I don't blame him for not going. Levin's goal is to defend Cruz and make him look good. He has no objectivity. If you look at his facebook page you will see that he does nothing but trash Rubio, Trump, and Bush (sometimes).
Levin is a two bit carnival barker seeking attention. Just like his buddy crazy Glen Beck.
For the same reason I've always thought Republican candidates should continue to go to crap debates like those put on by the liberal media.
Americans need to know how a Presidential Candidate will handle opposition, disagreement and outright hostility....to give us insight into how they would deal with America's foreign enemies.
If they are too chicken to even show up.........I think that's a good "tell" also.
I never said that Levin was dumb. I said that he has turned his show into a bore fest. Day after day of how great Cruz is and how much Trump/Christie/Bush/Rubio suck grew old and tiresome. I was a 6 year listener when I reached the end of rope (yea, I said it). Nothing new is to be learned listening as long as Cruz is in the race. How many times can one listen to someone cheer leading for a candidate. To quote Mark, "its like water boarding"

If I was running for President, I would. And I would proudly state my plans/solutions and try to give back as good as I got.
People forget that not only is a primary a chance for voters to look at Candidates........it's also a chance for Candidates to experience "non-lethal" conflict and learn how to deal with it.
Levin is dishonest, and has done nothing but manipulate his audience to ineffectual paths. The establishment must be crushed, and Levin will necessarily go with them.
