Sylvania is up next from San Diego. Hi, Sylvania. Glad you waited. You're up next on the EIB Network.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. I was a big Trumpster from the get-go. The way he caught my attention was when he started saying "make America great again" and we're going to "win" again. For me that was the keyword, winning, because I was absolutely exhausted and tired of losing seven years. I wanted to win. So I was with Donald Trump from the beginning.
But then also Ted Cruz kind of started getting my attention. And I was thinking and looking at both guys and debating. And then Iowa happened. And what we saw in Iowa was that Ted Cruz took on the ethanol lobby and he said "no subsidies." And he was the only candidate that did that. Donald Trump actually caved there. The ethanol lobby spent a lot of money against Ted Cruz and the governor in Iowa actually said: Please vote for anybody but Cruz. And Cruz held firm and he won.
So when you had that caller before saying, "Well, I'm with Donald Trump because he's a fighter and he fights. And Ted Cruz, I'm not sure that he can fight." I say you really need to look at the things the way they are, not the way you want them to be. Because right now I see Ted Cruz standing firm and strong.
RUSH: You're one of the -- I'm trying to remember how many, it's not very many. You're one of the few committed Trumpsters that I've ever encountered who has decided to leave and go somewhere else, in your case for Cruz. Was it really ethanol that did it for you?
CALLER: Well, there were some things, but definitely it was ethanol.....

‘I’m for Trump now, surprising even myself.’
That’s me, too. At one time the thought of supporting anyone but Cruz was simply unthinkable to me. I’ve mentioned to Cruz supporters that the Beck teddy bears and soccer-ball foreign-invader welcoming party really bothered me. I’ve taken a lot of abuse on that too. Sometimes around Cruz supporters you just say...nothing.
Frank Luntz, rhymes with Dunce.
The GOP convention should be MOST interesting!
You think the man who after a terrorist attack by Muslims, excused their attack, because a 'Jewish woman was taunting them.' His brown-nosing of Muslims should have ended his campaign right then.
I did mention McConnell in the context of one’s lack of savvy dealing with him. The other one knows what talks to most politicians, money.
Which two are those? Certainly not the one who admitted to bribing Democrat politicians for years?
“All subsidies - across the board - oil, gas, wind, solar, ethanol are gone; EPA fuel blend, gone.
Never happen. Just talking points.

On the eve of the South Carolina Republican Primary, Texas Senator Ted Cruz delivered a stump speech in Myrtle Beach at the Springmaid Resort Friday morning, after “Duck Dynasty” patriarch Phil Robertson warmed up the crowd.
Cruz told the roughly 200 folks in the crowd that the next presidential election carried high stakes because American freedoms are in jeopardy.
He compared the Palmetto State to the Longhorn State and said both possessed many of the same down-home values and patriotism.
“Ours are states that breed fighters and lovers of liberty and patriots,” Cruz said.
He touched on hot-button topics and critical concerns, such as gun ownership and immigration issues.
He also energized the crowd with talk of repealing Obamacare, passing a simple flat tax, strengthening and rebuilding military forces, defending religious rights, and stamping out ISIS, which is the “face of evil,” he said.”......
I was giving him the benefit of the doubt as he said he was bamboozled. You are correct, he was very in favor of TPA until he was against it.
It's not offered by many of the major stations but Valero does.........I don't know if Valero is in your area or not.
In any event, subsidies to support the growing of a food source for fuel purposes is asinine..........One only has to look at how all other vegetable products have soared in prices since farms started converting their fields to corn in order to take advantage of the government's demand for ethanol fuel.......
“...this woman would go over because of ethanol subsidies! Ridiculous, indeed.”
Actually Cruz’s pricipled stand om ethanol susbsidies is what sealed the deal for me.
BTW, it must be truely fascinating to be psychic.
So ethanol is a game-changer for someone in a nation overrun by foreign invaders, the lowest labor participation rate in 40 years, and the highest part time employment rate ever.
She is the conservative version of Ponytail Man.
No, he doesn’t. He also doesn’t look like a conniving ferret, either.
“But then also Ted Cruz kind of started getting my attention.”
Yeh when he came home and found a shaming letter on his front door. :-)
Sounds like a plant caller to me. You know they screen the calls to get just the one Rush wants. She didn’t have any issues with Cruz’s dirty tricks in Iowa? I find that hard to believe.
Neither Trump nor Carson are professional pols yet. Cruz is and he has tried to cheat both of them.

Why buy Trump when he will sell out for free?
It was me and Cruz did not back down, he stood firm. That is admirable.
If the U.S. gets into a Tweet battle, maybe Trump can protect us. If the U.S. is threatened militarily, Trump will hide behind Melania's skirts, just like all men who open their yap as much as he does.
The cloture vote for TPA got me to looking more critically.
The religiosity of his campaign is a little offputting as well.
