McConnell: Senate won't act on Obama Supreme Court nominee
CNN ^ | February 23, 2016 | Manu Raju, Ted Barrett and Tom LoBianco

Washington (CNN) Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell issued his most definitive statement on Tuesday: There will be no Supreme Court nominee confirmed in President Barack Obama's final year in office.

In a sharply worded statement on the Senate floor, McConnell bluntly warned the White House that the GOP-controlled Senate would not act on anyone he chooses to sit on the high court.

"Presidents have a right to nominate just as the Senate has its constitutional right to provide or withhold consent," McConnell said. "In this case, the Senate will withhold it."

Mitch, you better make sure of this. There is much skepticism regarding your resolve.

I really believe the prospect of a Trump presidency may keep them on their path of lies they perpetuate against us, but with the actual benefit of actually having to fulfill their promises. DEEDS! Not Words! They have to follow through or they shall suffer the awesome wrath of the voters who are too tired of their constant treachery.

Exactly. They’re already having trouble getting their GOPe candidates nominated, confirming yet another of Hussein’s leftist anti-American choices won’t help them.

That could change if they begin to believe that they’re not going to get the candidate of their choice anyway.

They can be bought, gladly and eagerly.

Obama in 2015: “We occasionally have to twist the arms of countries that wouldn’t do what we need them to do...”

Substitute “senators” for “countries”.

The GOP may (or may not) lose some seats to democrats if they refuse to vote on an Obama nominee, but the sitting GOP senators would lose seats in the primaries if they buckle under to Obama/media pressure.

I don’t believe you, Mitch.

Translate:
Zero nominee will be voted yes by the senate two months ago.

Opps missed it.

No really this discussion outside of Freeperland makes me realized we are sunk. Our electorate knows little about how the coutnry works. None nor do they care.

Hence Obama.

GOPe/RINOs always find a way to cave. Or, has this GOPe finally read the writing on the wall?

He has one ball, like Lucy, we are the Charlie Browns who keep trying to kick it. Can’t believe that sap-sucker got re-elected, but then my state certainly has no room to talk.

Sounds like his price to cave is going to be exceptionally high this time. Everything is negotiable, though.

I am done with any quisling Senator or Representative who belongs to the RINO establishment and I want them figuratively destroyed. I don’t even want to hear anything resembling “Phoenix.”

They collectively believe the pep talks from RINO management about how to handle us ‘sheep’ when it comes time to come back home to their districts and states and blatantly lie, over and over and over again, about how they actually voted ‘for us’ when they stabbed us in the back so they could go along-get along better with lobbyists and media in frigging DC. These liars are a cancer. Eff them. They should feel the hellfire of utter repudiation and condemnation by voters.

And Mitchell you also MUST guard against a recess appointment. Why that’s legal is an outrage.

I'm concerned we'll lose the Senate in Nov.. The new Senate gets sworn in on the 3rd. That gives Obama almost 2 weeks to jam someone through.

I'm not sure about the committee phase and who controls that.

After all the huffing and puffing, an offer will be made that he can’t refuse.

A payout of some sort, and just like that a nominee will be approved.

Pardon my cynicism.
