Don't be such a jerk.
Thanks for the info. I'm still trying to find out how NV politics works and who is for what.
I haven't been impressed with Sandoval (or Amodei) but glad to hear he's strong on RKBA!
If Reed likes him I KNOW I don’t want him.
The GOP should NEVER open that can of worms. Once they do, Obama and the DEMs will threaten Individual GOP members that they will lose their Senate seat if they don’t have a vote or don’t approve the RINO, or whoever is nominated. The DEMs will do victory laps that GOP caved... Better we lose the Senate than the seat on SCOUS. They will threaten a few individual Senators and peel them off and win. Otherwise, with no voting, they can say they never got to vote No one will vote against them for just that.
so what. DEMs do it every nomination. Remember Estrada???
As much as we need to make sure a Republican (even Kasich) gets into the WH, we need to make sure that Republicans hold the Senate - or the America we once knew is gone for at least a generation (more than it is now). I am not wild about Senator Portman, but if he wins the primary, I am voting for him in the General Election. That should go for even the biggest RINO.
The solution to the problem re obstructionism is that we should demand that the nominee be A REAL REPUBLICAN LIKE CRUZ OR LEE, NOT A GRAHAM/MCCAIN RINO.
Damned few Republican politicians can qualify for that today.
Yup... Plus Sandoval is pro-abortion.
From all I’ve read, Sandoval is a staunch supporter of 2nd Amendment rights. As far as I’m concerned, the biggest danger we face is that Hillary or Sanders might get elected in November and then appoint a pro-gun-control person to replace Scalia. That in turn would allow the Heller decision, which only had a 5-4 majority, to be overturned. Whereas if Obama actually does nominate Sandoval (which I’m skeptical that he’ll do), that would cement the Heller decision. I’d much rather take the bird in the hand (Sandoval) than risk our gun rights on the outcome of the November election. So if Sandoval is nominated, I’m all for it. And presumably the NRA and other gun-rights organizations would also strongly support the nomination, which would bring pressure on Republican Senators to do likewise.
I agree! I might even go a step farther and send a few names to the zero for consideration. What’s good for the goose, is good for the gander.
As I familiarize myself with his record, this is one reason why I wouldn’t immediately write him off. 2A is probably the biggest issue at stake with this nomination, yet this guy seems pretty solid on it. I’m not saying I’d support his nomination yet, but I’d at least consider it.
“centrist” read liberal.
That’s what I said.
