Ted Cruz said late Thursday that rival Marco Rubio would make a better president than Republican front-runner Donald Trump.
"Marco is not my enemy, Marco and I are friends. Marco and I would both make a much better candidate and a much better president than would Donald," Cruz told CNN's Jake Tapper after Thursday's Republican debate.
"I like Donald personally. He's a charming guy, although he can turn on you in an instant," Cruz continued.
If it wasn’t for my wife watching it, I would drop it RIGHT NOW. I haven’t watched it in 4 years. 100’s of channels and nothing interesting to me. I haven’t seen any of the debates. I really enjoy reading. I read a lot. I read the article at the link and saw this

Ted Cruz is smart going after Marco’s voters and is stating his own cred. Marco should drop out first, after the Trumping he will get in Florida. This is getting very interesting as to timing and who they endorse.

For months now, many here have been talking up the conservative credentials of DT. Amounts to a few months of speeches, and even those are hit and miss.
Just yesterday many were talking up how strong of a christian the man is...
In this season, one group or the other is being deceived. Either Donald Trump is a rock-solid conservative and God's man for this country (as many on this site say and mock others for not joining in). Or he is a self-centered reality-star candidate and a fraud, a 'republican' version of a personality-cult president in the same vein as Obama, whose speeches about hope and change were seen thru by, well, everyone on this site.
This season will pass, probably after the election. FR will return to normal...

Cruz is saying he prefers Gang of 8 amnesty and Obamatrade to Trump. Rubio supported both in the U. S. Senate. And you? Do you prefer amnesty and Obamatrade to Trump?
What is really going on here is Cruz throwing issue oriented conservatives under the bus to go after the mushy moderates that have recently been flocking to Rubio recently. Cruz has figured out he can’t out Trump Trump and is moving in with the cabana boy.

Luntz made a surprising comment this morning on F&F regarding his focus group after the debate last evening:
‘According to the focus group, Rubio won the debate. But Trump is likely to win the nomination, because the meter didn’t really move against Trump.’
Well, he’s probably right about Rubio being much better than Trump. However, as we know, this is all relative.
I’m thinking Ted is pandering to Marco’s voters and donors and stating his own case there. He sees Marco dropping out first, after his Florida debacle coming up. The interesting part is - who will each endorse when they drop out (Kasich and Carson included)?

CRuz endorsed El Rubio, last night, and officially came out as part of the UniParty.
Trump is the only candidate NOT amnesty PAC owned.

Now Cruz and Rubio have to pound this in all week.
Trumps bootlickers refuse to actuallly look at the man for what he is, they only repeat what he tells them.
It sickening to see America end like this.
Trump will be another disappointment in the line of Bush 1, Bush 2, McCain and Romney.
He’s better than the others in making it sound good, but he’s clear the biggest poser of them all. He will sell out his angry supporters in a New York minute. He’s clearly staking out liberal positions, pretending to have conservative positions, contradicting what he said just last September.
DT walks and quacks like a liberal duck his whole life but the hypnotized cult sees a Lion. Ted abondoning Don tells us he knows Don will pick a liberal for VP leaving us no conservative bench. Ted HAS to be VP even if Don turns his stomach or the US will live under a third term of zero.
