Chris Christie Endorses Donald Trump
The New York Times ^ | February 25, 2016 | Staff

Posted on 02/26/2016 9:50:55 AM PST by abb

Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey endorsed Donald J. Trump on Friday, a major turn in a wild race and one that gives the New York businessman a major boost as he heads into the pivotal Super Tuesday contests.

Mr. Christie was a candidate himself until he came in sixth place in New Hampshire’s primary. But his backing of Mr. Trump comes after weeks of him saying that it was time for the “entertainment” portion of the race to end, and as he had said that the type of executive leadership that a governor has is important.

I couldn’t care less how “great” a CEO is if he’s a liberal. A liberal in the White House will continue destroying the country. The government has to be shrunk drastically, not run better. If it’s set up to run our lives, even if Trump does it well, the next President will send it into chaos again most likely. That’s why the government should NOT be run by a CEO or like a business. It should be shrunk down to next to nothing and everything sent back to the states and locals.

Anyone calling Trump establish has such a break with reality, they could be dangerous to themselves and their family.

That remark is so off the wall, it shows a high level of insanity/break with reality.

None of the people celebrating seem to care that Christie basically endorsed Obama last time, what he did was worse than a formal endorsement actually.

Great track record.

I assume he’s been promised AG or something to go along with the lifetime supply of pastry.

“Sorry friend. I’m not the one supporting the candidate who can, “win Democrats, blacks, Hispanics, Independents” simply because he’s a “maverick and shoots from the hip.”
That was McCain.

I’m not the one backing the candidate who supports Universal health care, progressive taxes and was formerly all in on abortion.”

That was Romney.

1+1 = Trump.”

Sorry, but unlike those two, Trump did not spend his entire life in Washington politics, and he’s made it very clear he’s not the type to “reach across the aisle” for the sake of “reaching across the aisle”.

1-1= you got nothing.

In addition and ironically/comically for you, both McCain and Romney absolutely despise Trump.

How could that be if he’s a carbon copy of them?!!

“Your definition of insanity is confirmed.”

Yes it most certainly is!

He has NO chance of winning NY, none. No more than Romney had of winning MA. Republicans get under 40% for President there, it’s one of the worst states.

We'll see...

Political science professor forecasts Trump as general election winner

The Statesman | February 23, 2016 | Christopher Cameron

A professor of political science at Stony Brook University has forecasted that Donald Trump has a minimum 97 percent chance of winning the general election as the Republican nominee.

Professor Helmut Norpoth’s forecast presentation took place Monday evening in the SUNY Global Center in Manhattan, which was organized by the Stony Brook Alumni Association.

Norpoth created a statistical model of presidential elections that uses a candidate’s performance in their party’s primary and patterns in the electoral cycle as predictors of the presidential vote in the general election.

Donald Trump has a 97 percent chance of defeating Hillary Clinton and a 99 percent chance of defeating Bernie Sanders in the general election, according to Norpoth’s formula.

The bottom line is that the primary model, using also the cyclical movement, makes it almost certain that Donald Trump will be the next president, Norpoth said, if he’s a nominee of the [Republican] party.

Norpoth’s primary model works for every presidential election since 1912, with the notable exception of the 1960 election. These results give the model an accuracy of 96.1 percent.

If material wealth is everyone’s first priority, it explains how it is that we lost the culture and the Republic.

Wealth is not my first priority in life. Neither is the pursuit of material possession and status in the eyes of men.

If it’s yours, you have your reward.

I hope Trump does not have plans to pick him a VP.

Someone heard Christie say he has not been offered any position by Trump, and his plans are to finish his term as Gov and go into private enterprise.

Hey America, check this out, from post #469:

". . What Trump was doing was to make every single manager present, feel important, and boosting their morale, and setting guidelines on goals to be accomplished.

I was on a corporate executive committee in a privately held corporation doing $500 million yearly business. But I have never witnessed CEO skills I saw in Trump."

We may not have an opportunity like this for a long time. . Can you imagine Trump having a meeting with his Cabinet? An Ayn Rand protagonist like Hank Reardan actually getting a shot at being President?! He will take this as Very serious business and do what's best for the country. . Ok, so you say it's all about Trump. . So what if he wants to be The Best President Ever. . The USA will benefit!

As an aside, I've always had this thought about Reardan or Roark . . what if They could be President and really change things. . the tables turned, so to speak. . then I would think, great idea but never going to happen because they wouldn't take the job. . . Maybe, just maybe Trump is . . just think of the possibilities.

And Trump is going to get Congress, the Democrats and the Establishment that WANTS open borders and Amnesty to agree to tax and impose tariffs on Mexico to pay for Trumps wall?

Or do you expect Trump to simply decree a wall built and contractors make it so after the DOJ sued states to prevent them to enforce laws that are now suspended?

And what happened to the 1.2 billion in funds appropriated in the 2006 Secure Border Act that Congress passed??

What concrete viable steps does Trump have to ensure that his wall will get built beyond his mere words should Congress actually pass another build-a-wall bill?

I said that when Christie gave Rubio a good kicking before NH that he was out of my personal doghouse. He’s made up for slobbering on Obama in 2012.

After this point, I am judging him on his current merits and positions.
