I have always preferred Cruz over any other candidate.
Trump seemed like a good second choice, but seems to be trying his best to alienate conservatives like me.
I think he has focussed his whole life on business and has never had any deep, philosophical understanding of the roots of why our nation became the greatest ever. He doesn’t seem to get conservatism. He recognizes there is something attractive there that he wants to align himself with, but he does not get it fundamentally.
Okay I went to the source story and find no proof that Trump praised Harry Reid for slamming Romney on tax filings say for a tweet from some guy that claims it so. Where’s the beef?
I don’t know why he would, but that will have to come from him.
Frankly, I don’t see any reason for any of them to stay in if he winds up with 500 delegates at the end of the day and none of them have 50. And if as I suspect Cruz, but certainly Rubio lose their home states to Trump, just ouch!
As for who the real "Living Constitution" people are, I nominate those here and elsewhere who want to incorporate a definition of "natural born" that isn't found in the Constitution, isn't found in the records of the founding sessions of Congress, and doesn't appear in a single legally binding holding or statute ever produced in the long history of the American legislature and judiciary.
Here's the deal. For you "Living Constitutionalists" who want to modify the text of the Constitution without going through the proper process, back up the truck and use the process, get yourselves an amendment, and get it passed by the American people. That's how you modify the Constitution.

Well hell. That’s it, I’m voting for Rubio!
A great episode. :)

“You won’t hear Ted Cruz praising and making common cause with Harry Reid! “
maybe not, but we sure did hear Cruz endorse Mr. Gang of Eight Marco Rubio!
This has long ago become a welter of confusion to me, but what little I have gleaned is that at about the same time the Constitution was ratified, the statutes of the country DID refer explicitly to the concept of “Natural born.”
But then those got repealed and replaced by others that did NOT refer explicitly to such a concept — leaving it orphaned. Most people after that assumed it would require a president to be physically born in the USA to citizens. But the issue didn’t come up till Cruz. (Obama at least was vouched for by Hawaii, though with a hoked up certificate.)
He’d be better than lifelong NYC leftist Donald Trump, but not nearly as conservative as Ted Cruz. There’s only one thing to do...
Ted Cruz 2016!
The Constitution did not give the Congress to power to change the Constitution. However, if either Ted or Marco are nominated, the Democrats are sure to challenge them using the “debunked series of quotes that have no binding legal authority.”
However, it is looking more and more as if that legal challenge will be moot. We should know more in 72 hours from now. If Ted Cruz looses Texas, then it is pretty much over for him, and Rubio is looking more and more like toast in Florida.
I like Cruz. Hell of a hill to climb.
Who cares, Dead Cruz couldn’t be elected if Hitlery went behind bars.
Actually, he called them all out on it. By name.
Wow, Jerry Springer, I was over at Dem Underwear the other day and that is exactly how they described the debate. Brought to such a presidential level. Keep it up and Sanders will be in the oval office. At least he is honest about being a communist.
I’m with Levin (strange bedfellows), I don’t care for it. We’re on the path to President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho.
The new American politics, a reality TV/pro wrestling freak show where trash talk is the main form of discourse. “South Park” having Bruce Jenner running for VP barely qualifies as a parody in this environment. Used to be Governors that people looked at first to run for President, now it will be reality tv stars. Maybe one of the Desperate Housewives of Wherever will run next time.
Mainstream politicians better get agents and pursue their own tv opportunities to reach the mouth-breather voting bloc. Kasich should call the Food Network, “Cooking with Milqutoast” sounds like a hit in the making. Rubio + George Lopez = (lousy) sitcom. Jeb Bush should guest star on “Game of Thrones”, as a severed head.
Maybe so , he is/was hardly my first choice or second or...., but it was refreshing to see him come out and wipe the floor with that lying slandering windbag Trump.
Rube was hilarious and he seemed to love giving Trump his well deserved thrashing, acting totally immune from Trump's overused insults.
Rubio totally humiliated Trump, he gave Trump the Trump treatment.
It would be sad if if came down to Trump and Rubio, but then I would have to decide which one is the most liberal to vote against.
Same with Hillary and Trump.
