Cruz Exposes Trump ObamaCare Lies

One of the most amazing abilities Donald Trump has is being able to lie about his own record and get away with it.

-snip-

Republican presidential contender Ted Cruz cross-examined 2016 rival Donald Trump on Thursday's GOP debate stage,

-snip-

"True or false: you said the government should pay for everyone's health care?" Cruz asked Trump.

"That's false," Trump flatly said.

"You've never said that?" Cruz asked, seemingly surprised by the denial.

"I said it worked in a couple countries," Trump quipped.

"But you never stood on this debate stage and said, 'It worked great in Canada and Scotland, we should do it here'?" Cruz pressed.

"No, I did not," Trump replied

The fact is, as Trump told CBS' Scott Pelley in a "60 Minutes" interview, while claiming he would repeal ObamaCare and replace it with - wait for it, government-paid universal health care:

Scott Pelley: Universal health care?

Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now.

Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of how?

Donald Trump: They're going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probably--

Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?

Donald Trump: --the government's gonna pay for it....

-snip-

During the first GOP debate, moderator Bret Baier said to Donald Trump, "15 years ago, you called yourself a liberal on health care. You were for a single-payer system, a Canadian-style system."

"As far as single payer, it works in Canada," Trump replied. "It works incredibly well in Scotland...

Love how this article proves that CRuz is (once, again) the LIAR!! CRuz was so annoying in his usual lahhyer voice and method of ‘questioning’ Trump....he specifically asked Trump, “you never stood on this debate stage and said, ‘It worked great in Canada and Scotland, WE SHOULD DO IT HERE’?” Cruz pressed.

The article uses a Scott Pelley INTERVIEW....not any debate clip.....to try and prove Trump wrong.

The article then proves Trump RIGHT....AGAIN....and, CRuz a LIAR, once again...by quoting Trump saying, at debate - that SP worked in Canada and Scotland. He did NOT say he would want it, here.

Here is the exact exchange, between Baier and Trump, at that debate:

“Now, 15 years ago, you called yourself a liberal on health care. You were for a single-payer system, a Canadian-style system. Why were you for that then, and why aren’t you for it now?” asked Baier.

Trump responded that his opinion back in 2000 related to the situation at the time and does not reflect his position now.

“As far as single payer, it works in Canada. It works incredibly well in Scotland. It could have worked in a different age, which is the age you’re talking about here,” answered Trump, before moving on to discuss his endorsement of allowing health-care policies to be purchased across state lines.

.........

Another thing that the CRuzbots are overlooking....and many of us have attempted (to no avail) to explain to them....is the fact that we CURRENTLY have GOVERNMENT PAID HEALTHCARE. It’s called MEDICAID. And, if they want to call it UNIVERSAL healthcare, fine....but, it’s not typically been called that, before....except when they’re trying to ‘corner’ Trump in a ‘lie’.

We see, once again, who the FIBBING, PAC paid liar is.....CRuz strikes, again. If the CRuzbots want to use Trump’s positions of long ago, then we’ll gladly apply the ‘come out of the shadows/I’m for amnesty’ label position of CRuz’s from TWO PLUS YEARS AGO, to CRuz.

It’s odd....it’s as though CRuz has gone from bad (Beck/Barton) to worse (Milt Romney) on his advisers. YUGE mistakes have exposed CRuz for the rank amateur, Cheap Labor Express donor owned fraud that he is.

Trump has a mind like a steel trap. CRuz’s paw got caught in it, yet again :(

“It Doesn’t Matter! . & .We Don’t Care!
That’s pretty scary and often repeated my Trump supporters.”

You’re saying that, not us. For us, this is NO LONGER a Policy Wonk Election - this is a MOVEMENT. The harder you guys push, the harder we push back.

“Why not have a staunch T.E.A. Party, Conservative, Senator that has a record of fighting Obama and GOPe?”

Because, in the end, he will need their money and resources...and we all knows what happens then.

“The “Cruz Lies” meme is easily rebuffed by quoting Pete Sessions many statements in support of Cruz. “

I’m not saying that, but I will point out, if challenged, that there is a YouTube video of Cruz testifying to the Senate on the Gang of Eight Bill that pretty much negates any good words Pete has for him. Not to mention that Cruz has all but endorsed Rubio now.

He’s never said the government is going to pay for it all.

I never said he did. What I did say is that Trump has no healthcare policy.

Try to keep focused please.

An odd request from a Trumpster considering how much trouble your candidate has staying focused.

We could do worse than to ask a tycoon to come up with a new vision for America. I’d expect better fiscal results out of the tycoon than from scads of droids who never ran a business.

How many Supreme Court cases has Trump argued???

LOL!! That’s seriously your ‘requirement’ for the job of Executive-in-Chief of the USA??

Quite telling. I don’t want a debate champion, preacher in chief responsible for turning this economy around (economy happens to be one of the biggest issues, for Americans).

I want the guy who’s had to cover...and manage the payroll...and has signed the FRONT of the check. Not another amnesty PAC paid weasel whose ONLY experience with money is spending OPM....other peoples money.

I even went and got his whole quote to be fair.

Your clever excerpt stopped short:

--the government's gonna pay for it. But we're going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most it's going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything.

Someone on FR has already labeled this exact cut the" lie of my omission.

Yup in fact that’s why it makes better sense to have Cruz doing other things.

Because Cruz will be of better use there.

No, I can be counted on to read it carefully and evaluate it in the context of all such things. And thereby not come up with arrant lies about it.

Cruz will never, ever endorse Rubio and Rubio is far more likely to be Trump’s VP nomination than Cruz.

Well maybe this might be a warning to lie a little less?

There would be no Obamacare if it wasn’t for Cruz putting his buddy Roberts on the Supreme Court.

These are both your comments. You don't seem to grasp this. One is a false statement. Cruz was not in the Senate to be able to confirm Justice Roberts. You know this. That is a knowingly fals statement intended to harm. It was posted here on FreeRepublic.

let me say this again - I am glad you are able to state your opinins freely and without fear of being sued here on this forum. Thank God for that. And the constitution.

But if TRUMP gets his wish to change the liable laws against public figures by public entitities - then you and free Republic can be sued to non existence by Trump or anyone else who deems a statement by you as a lie. Even if proven wrong in court, you and Free republic would be bankrupted by any deeppocket such as Trump and his lawyers. Imagine if HuffingtonPost disagree with Freerepublic. I am sure they do. THEY could sue FreeRepublic out of existence.

I am glad you support Trump. But holy cow - everything he says is not correct. And on this - he is WAY wrong. And it wasn't a heat of the moment statement where he was rattled in a debate. he then said it AGAIN in a stump speech today. He BELIEVES this ! at least he does today. but honestly he could come out against what he said yesterday and today - tomorrow. Who knows with him?
