Kabul (BNA) The Russian government has recently handed over its first military assistance consisting of 10000 Ak-47 to ANP. While the Afghan government sincerely appreciates Russian assistance and requesting further contribution for ANSF equipping and capacity building.

A number of experts and law makers on the role of regional countries in war on terror who were optimist on these assistance and future of Afghanistan and believed that Moscow is concerned on influence of terrorists and extremists into their borders said that if regional countries make honest cooperation with us in the direction of restoration of stability, we would witness it soon. Appreciating Russian military assistance for ANP, they emphasize on continued cooperation of this country for elimination of terror cells. Regional expert Ekram Andishmand says that probably Afghanistan’s insecurities would destabilize Russian allies in central Asia, and this has made Moscow to much concerned, because Afghanistan has located among central and south Asia and the Middle East.

If Russia, China and India converge to each other and agree with the west, peace will be possible in Afghanistan, because, stability is in favor of all sides. Regional superpowers including Russia should support Afghanistan to prevent increasing influence of terror groups inside their allies’ territories and offer long term cooperation in support of ANSF. Saleh Mohammad Saleh another political expert says at present the ANSF are confronting international terrorists and the regional superpowers have to support Afghanistan including Russia. Because this is a regional war and doesn’t depends only to Afghanistan and the world should support us in this direction and take practical steps for elimination of terrorism

"Huge cache of Iran-made explosives and weapons seized in Bamyan [Afghanistan]"

"The cache included various types of explosives and weapons, including the ones left from the Soviet era and the newly-supplied Iran-made weapons and explosives.

Provincial governor Mohammad Zahir Zahir told reporters that the cache was discovered during a special operation conducted by the Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives.

The explosives and weapon were put on display which included 39 Improvised Explosive Device (IED), 31 rockets, 2 boxes of PK machine gun ammunition, and 25 rounds of RPG-7 rockets.

Zahir said the Iran-made weapons and explosives were also among the cache discovered by the security forces.

This comes as the Afghan government officials have long been criticizing the neighboring countries of the country, including Iran and Pakistan for supporting certain anti-government armed militant groups."

And not least, the Taliban are competing with daesh (ISIS) for attention.

"Horrific video shows Taliban torturing and executing Badghis tribal elder"

"A distressing video has emerged from the northwestern Badghis province of Afghanistan which purportedly shows horrific torture of a tribal elder by the Taliban militants before he is executed.

"Local police officials have confirmed that the tribal elder Haji Allah Dad was recently captured by the Taliban militants after he visited the Taliban-controlled area."

So, sounds like we have some conflict of interest here between Russia and Afghanistan. Or they just made a DEAL.

Defending her home,

“Afghan Woman Kills Senior Taliban Commander For Trespassing”

“Provincial police report that a senior Taliban commander was shot dead by a woman in the northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan, because he barged into her home uninvited.

“Press TV notes that invading the woman’s home was considered “a serious breach of privacy” under Afghan custom. Evidently this particular homeowner took it seriously, because she reported “opened indiscriminate fire” on the Taliban who violated her privacy, injuring one militant in addition to the slain commander.”

That’s right; what we called the “Soviet invasion of Afghanistan” in 1979 was actually aid to an Afghan government that requested the help (just as we did in Vietnam). In the same way, the cost of the intervention was too high, the Soviets pulled out after a long war, and the government they assisted survived a few more years without them before crashing & burning.

Why doesn't some drug company buy all the wealth Afghanistan can produce and convert it into a useable drug ?

I know nothing of the subject, but I would think a product that produces opium/heroin can also be made into a beneficial for mankind pharmaceutical

Russia has been in Afghanistan as part of the US coalition. (And of course for many years previously). I’m not sure why this is in the news?

Well, in both cases the governments requesting help were puppets. So “invasion” still fits IMO.

I have no issue with that, though we were never told we were “invading” South Vietnam (and still don’t admit that today).

Thanks—it’s good to see some news besides the election crap we are being fed non-stop by CNN, FOX, etc., in order to distract us from what is really going on.

Newsnow.co.uk and washington examiner.

This election is such a joke I skip the crud until I want to read for entertainment. The dem underground post was correct in saying it’s like a jerry springer show (I watched the commercials same as the apprentice-waste of time). Pathetic that it has been taken to such a low level. But, that’s the level of intelligence of the average American, eh?

We should have. Could have put all those missing billions into seeds, irrigation, mining, let alone supplies for the boots, etc, etc, etc.

It is 8 am. I just woke up in a different universe. I am going back to bed for a decade. Obama has given the world to Russia, China, and Islam. It will be a bloody mess.
