So far, Trump wins open primaries and Cruz wins closed … (Title Shortened)

There have been four closed elections: the Iowa caucus, the Nevada caucus, and Super Tuesday’s Oklahoma primary and Alaska caucus. Ted Cruz won three of those four closed elections.

So here’s where it potentially gets interesting. Although the media are looking forward to March 15, this Saturday (March 5) there are four Republican primaries/caucuses: Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana and Maine. All are closed.

Did you know that Planned Parenthood does good things?/s

I used to be on a decorating forum that was mostly women, Every once in a while there would be posts that concerned womens issues. When Susan B. Komen foundation made the announcement that they would no longer support PP, there were hundreds of posts within a couple of hours. Posts were running about 8 to 1 of women who would no longer support Susan B. Komen foundation.

Your’e silly snark really shows how little you know about the thinking of a whole lot of voters. Yes, PP does provide services for women, especially younger women who cannot afford regular dr. visits. To stop funding PP that provides abortion, and yet recognize what they have done that is good, makes good sense in getting some changes. Unless, you don’t really want changes?

What are conservatives 20%, hardly enough to win in the general election and yet some think that we have to have a candidate who is pure and has to all fit in with their logic and views.

It is nice to be independent But the closed Republican primaries do not allow independents to vote. That is just fine with the GOPe as the more establishment Republicans can thwart the will of the larger conservative electorate.

Exactly! It's Mississippi all over again. The left makes up a phony racist charge, hammers it 24/7 in the press, and those die-hard Republicans think it will hurt the party.

Then you have Cruz's version of pushing Granny off a cliff, Trump wants socialized medicine, Trump's going to take your guns, and the elderly turn to Ted for protection. Very depressing.

No, it bodes well for him losing the general when the liberal Dems who helped him win the primary go back to their ideological home and destroy him. They know Hilary has this in the bag so they want to do what they can to hurt Republican chances. This entire concept of letting the other side have a voice in choosing your own candidate is beyond stupid to me, and it is a big part of Trump’s upport.

I don’t know anyone here who is voting for him and most don;t like him.

Remember though I ma in the north east where it mostly republicans and mostly white, hell my county outnumbers Dems and nonparty combined, but I bet if you went further south then there must be Hispanics who like him.
The polls say Trump is ahead over 20 points and we are being hit hard with Rubio AD’s

Unfortunately, I think brokered convention is exactly where we’re headed.

America looses that scenario.

Sarah Palin's endorsement of Trump didn't seem to have too much impact in Alaska at all.

RE:”Yes, getting ‘rat votes is one thing if it’s because they have decided that they can live with a few conservative principles in order to deal with things like closing our open borders, but it’s another entirely if they’re only coming in to try to make what’s left of a formerly mostly conservative party into the mini-me of the ‘rat party.”

Time will tell if Trump gets the nomination, and again if he gets the WH.

But those who are mad as hell that the GOP in congress didnt shutdown the government to force Obama to sign repeals of Obama-care and Planned Parenthood funding, and decided to vote for Trump to spite them, and because Trump talks tough ,will probably have a rude awakening if the above (he gets those positions) comes true.

Yeah, probably ~20%.

But that’s okay, when Cruzatorum loses hard, his voters will blame America for it.

Trump is my first choice until he is no longer in the race. Then my choice would be Cruz. At this point Cruz has not given me an indecent reason to support him over Trump. Saying Teump bad me good does not do it. I have seen several instances where Cruz betrayed us to the GOPe. So far, Trump has not disappointed me,

" Libs patriots??? Fat chance."

Your mistake is categorizing all democrats as liberal. This is no more true than saying all republicans are conservatives.

I know plenty of democrats who love their country and have served in the military and want a better life for themselves and their kids. Trump has appeal to them. I hear it all the time. The reasons they give have nothing to do with liberalism.

Trump wins unprotected primaries.
Cruz wins protected primaries.
I see that as Trump being more viable outside the safe zone.

“ the wall and immigration” will fall apart.

I submit to the court exhibit A, AZ SB1070.

A well advertised plan of strict enforcement will begin the self-deportations. Trump needs no help from congress to enforce laws on the books.
That will be the worst case scenario.

Can't you see it? Cruz has sold out. Wasn't the tag-teaming with Rubio a bridge too far? Do you seriously think that if the puppetmasters steal the nomination that it will go to either Cruz or Rubio?

If Trump doesn't get the nomination, the movement can't change the path the US is on. No one or nothing can. We either go down that slippery slope we're on or sometime before that, it gets violent.

I really wish that you Cruzers would look at what's going on from a historical perspective.

And if what time tells us is that Trump never had any intention of implementing or supporting anything remotely conservative, that will be the proverbial third wave which takes down the ship (of state).
