Texas Sen. Ted Cruz handily won the Kansas and Maine Republican caucuses on Saturday, but Donald Trump is projected to win Louisiana, the most delegate-packed state of the Super Saturday contest, and Kentucky.

Someone needs to explain why Cruz voted for TPP/TPA which is costing Americans millions of jobs. Someone needs to explain why Cruz voted for the Corker bill which set off a nuclear Iran and paid Iran $150 billion and undercut Israel.

Terrible votes. IMO, he betrayed us. Those of us who care about our childrens' futures should beware of politicians who put their political ambition ahead of our national security and economic interests.

Trump needs to spend less time at rallies and more time in debate prep.

And Cruz is a natural born Cuban, Canadian, and US citizen who self-certifies as having no issue before the Supreme Court when Hillary files suit.

Really?

Trump won the LA closed primary.

With barely a 3.5% margin...

Without the GOPe spoilers still running, Cruz would have easily won.

A win is still a win.

As Trump noted, he got hit with everything and the kitchen sink and he still won.

When you have the establishment and media coming in full force at you, that’s impressive.

He can say he came out of the trial of fire a stronger candidate.

Why does Puerto Rico have any say in choosing the GOP nominee? They do not bother for President, they are not a State and have no electoral votes.

Traditionally, all of the territories and DC have a say in the primary process for both parties. Their influence is tiny compared to the states. PR and DC are the only territory with > 9 delegates to the convention.

I cannot assume that Cruz would get all of those votes, but you could well be right about him winning LA.

Gonna dish out an honest assessment. If one judges various pre-election polling data and then compares that to election results, Cruz seems to over perform, and Trump seems to under perform.

If I was Trump, I would no longer say “I’m winning in the polls”, because it simply does not matter. It only matters that you win on election day.

That being said, I am not taking anything away from Trump’s wins today, or Cruz’s wins. They were hard earned.

Without the GOPe spoilers still running the race would have been entirely different. The attacks on ‘Little Marco’ would have been directed at Cruz or Hillary instead, for example. Also, knocking Rubio out in Florida would not have been such a big deal, so the two would have spent more time in the current states.

We don’t know where people will go to when their first choice is knocked out. Pretty much all we DO know is that most of Cruz’s followers have Trump as a second choice and vice versa.

As a Cruz supporter i hope the Trump campaign stays locked onto steady as it goes for their campaign moving forward.

Pretty much all we DO know is that most of Cruz’s followers have Trump as a second choice and vice versa.

Most supporters of Trump or Cruz are not like many Freepers. They do not hate the other guy and are much more pragmatic. This is why the best ticket would be Trump-Cruz or Cruz-Trump. I know many here will hate this, but they are not the average Republican voter. The average Republican voter is focused on defeating Hillary Clinton and sticking it to the GOPe.

And Trump would have won Kansas and Maine if they weren’t caucus States. You can make an argument about anything but that doesn’t mean your argument is correct

Your right about the kitchen sink comment.

For two weeks Trump has been been ambushed by the Republican Party elites, Fox News, tag team of Rubio/Cruz, Limbaugh, Prager, Medved, Levin and the mainstream media.

Between the four states here's the total individual vote count

Trump: 230,443
Cruz: 230,209

I didn't bother with Rubio

So the guy Trump said "...nobody likes..." is suddenly the GOPe darling?

Where did I say that? The GOPe will never give Cruz the nomination. Cruz is a useful pawn, probably a willing pawn, nothing more.
