Huffington Post: Trump Near-Certain to Defeat Democrat in November According To Primary Model
Huffington Post ^ | 3/7/2016 | Helmut Norpoth

With Donald Trump as the nominee, Republicans are highly certain to win the presidential election on November 8, 2016. Trump will defeat Hillary Clinton with 87 percent certainty, and Bernie Sanders with 99 percent.

These forecasts come from the PRIMARY MODEL. It is a statistical model that relies on presidential primaries and an election cycle as predictors of the vote in the general election.

Early primaries are a leading indicator of electoral victory in November. Trump won the Republican primaries in both New Hampshire and the South Carolina while Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders split the Democratic primaries in those states.

What favors the GOP in 2016 as well, no matter if Trump is the nominee or any other Republican, is a cycle of presidential elections. After two terms of Democrat Barack Obama in the White House the electoral pendulum is poised to swing to the GOP this year. This cycle, which is illustrated with elections since 1960, goes back a long way to 1828.

"I think that it will be a landslide of Reaganesque proportions. That is, if the GravyTrainians don’t upset the board. Then it’s going to get real sporty."

Yes it will, bigger than Reagan v Modale IMHO. The Sportyness will occur if and that is a big if, Trump / Cruz start to downsize, & disassemble the Federal Leviathan. Then you will hear the little piggies squeal...

Romney and the GOP are getting behind Cruz and that is their option, but we sure as hell know that the GOP will stab Cruz in the back once he has done their dirty work.

Can you cite something as evidence that the left hates Trump?

Go take a look on Facebook.

Is this the same Huffington Post that started out putting Trump stories in the Entertainment section because they didn’t take his candidacy seriously?

“Trump Near-Certain to Defeat Democrat in November According To Primary Model”......

Reminds me of a headline from a few years back that went something like this, “DEWEY WINS”. Perhaps its the power of suggestion that the HP is spewing.

You forget Hillary has a number of “health issues” to deal with. She even was coughing again non-stop this past Sunday night.

Romney and the billions of super pac dollars are going to make sure Trump will not be the nominee.

If that happens, you'll see the lowest voter turnout in history, maybe longer. Or, you'll see a shooting revolution start.

Ben Carson was on Hannity yesterday afternoon. This was his calculus as well. He wouldn’t choose between the two but he said Trump woukd kill Hillary and Cruz had only an inside straight longshot.

I would sure hope he does. A good chunk of government waste comes from the inability to fire government employees. I know of a government employee who got caught lifting SSNs. After a full investigation all he got was a slap on the hands (probationary period) and still has his job. Then there are the numerous that are completely unqualified to hold the positions that they have. I hope Trump lays waste to these moochers.

Primary Model : Trump 52.5% - Hillary 47.5%

I would not be at all surprised if this is exactly right.

But we have an RNC that actively tries to throw elections now. The landscape has changed so drastically is a very terrible way. We could forever be faced with Democrat rule if the Republican establishment throws this one and Hitlery gives 20 million illegals citizenship.
It’s why many of us see this as our last stand and think Trump is the only candidate to save us from this fate. He’s the only one that clearly see’s the immigration debacle for what it is and that is why the establishment is fighting him so damn hard. That’s where ALL politicians are getting their bread buttered. Just ask little Marco and his Gang of Eight.
I pray for Donald J Trump and hope he does well today.

“GOING?” to get ugly...

Really?

LOL

As bad as the last six-ish months have been, if Romney successfully blocks Trump/Cruz and creates a brokered convention then this past six months will look like Boy Scouts singing kumbaya at the campfire.

I don’t see that as possible. If Trump or Cruz does not win on the first ballot, do we assume that all of those delegates suddenly agree to vote for an establishment candidate like Jeb Bush or Mitt Romney. I believe that’s the last thing that would happen.

That's what the rules say is possible to happen. Will they all go Bush or Romney? Who knows. Some will, for sure. Maybe even most. And when that happens hell breaks loose.
