Poll: Is Donald Trump Losing Steam? By David Wright, CNN March 8, 2016 Washington (CNN)A new national poll of Republican voters shows Donald Trump continues to lead the race for the GOP presidential nomination, but the margin is tightening in the face of an onslaught of attacks and a smaller GOP field.
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has gained on the front-runner since January and stands ahead of Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
The ABC/Washington Post poll released Tuesday finds Trump with 34% support, followed by Cruz with 25%. Rubio is No. 3 with 18% support, ahead of Kasich at 13%.
The new numbers reflect a slight tightening of the race, since establishment Republicans have come out swinging against Trump with attack ads and public condemnations.
An ABC/Washington Post GOP national poll in January showed Trump ahead of Cruz 37% to 21%. Rubio has also gained 7 points since then, and Kasich has surged 11 points from 2% at that time, as the Republican field has winnowed.
The poll also tested hypothetical match-ups between Trump and Cruz and Trump and Rubio, and found the front-runner losing those contests. The polling could potentially provide some hope to establishment Republicans eager for signs of vulnerability on Trump's part, and fueling arguments for consolidation in the GOP race behind a single Trump challenger. In a Trump versus Cruz match-up, Cruz beats Trump 54% to 41% among Republicans nationally.

Kasich and Rubio 0
We’ll see how the ballot count goes tonight.
Then we’ll know if he’s losing steam or not.
CNN is scared to death that it’s not.
I hope to God that the sleaze Trump collapses before it is too late.
All the Trump-haters and all the GOP establishment traitors (like Romney) are in a frenzy to somehow stop the Trump juggernaut.
They’re all going to be disappointed.
“The ABC/Washington Post poll released Tuesday finds Trump with 34% support, followed by Cruz with 25%. Rubio is No. 3 with 18% support, ahead of Kasich at 13%.”
I do not give a freakin’ crap what any polls says about anyone.
I am so tired of seeing this poll says this, that poll says that.
It only matters what voters say on election day.
Quit wasting space with this crap.
Trump haters naturally click the word Cruz in the poll. Means nothing. Just a talking point that Trump has widespread hate in the GOP.Why are most minorities, most Republicans, most Democrats & most voters aren’t even turning out for the primaries if Trump is scary?
That’s only in a splintered race and that’s how the conman is benefitting.
Note the poll looks at Trump versus Cruz head-to-head. Rubio and Kasich are splitting support - interesting to see what might happen when/if those two drop out.
My tagline tells where that is headed.
The Cruz folks champion the negative image of Trump, and then get up early each day to bring in more dump-trucks filled with manure before the sun comes up.
They are Hillary’s biggest friends right now.
Ted Cruz will never be the nominee, unless he has an agreement with the GOPe, that involves him taking Trump down.
He is their biggest hammer against Trump right now.
He’s a GOPe stooge, and either doesn’t know it or loves the position.
We’ll, that’s my take on it. We agree.
“The ABC/Washington Post poll released Tuesday finds Trump with 34% support, followed by Cruz with 25%. Rubio is No. 3 with 18% support, ahead of Kasich at 13%. “
So what is the nonsense in the title claiming Cruz is ahead of Trump by 54% to 41%?
Not gonna say a word!
Thursday night’s debate is make or break for Trump. One more juvenile performance and he is done.
...and I get that itdidn’t hurt him in the past. But he took it to another level with the penis reference. He must stay above the fray and sound informed and presidential.
