Ted Cruz Says Donald Trump's Voters Have "relatively low information" And Are "not that engaged"
CBN News ^ | March 10, 2016 | David Brody

Posted on 03/10/2016 6:23:01 AM PST by VitacoreVision

GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz tells The Brody File that the reason Donald Trump is performing well in the GOP race for president is because his voters are uninformed and not engaged in the process. “Donald does well with voters who have relatively low information, who are not that engaged and who are angry and they see him as an angry voice. Where we are beating him is when voters’ get more engaged and they get more informed.” Hunch: I’m thinking Trump and his “Silent Majority” may push back on this just a bit don’t you think? Lots to unpack here but for now, here’s the clip.

Our interview was done Wednesday afternoon in Miami.

HockeyPop: “I love the poorly educated” ~~Donald Trump
...

Trump is popular with many types of people.

We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated. We’re the smartest people, we’re the most loyal people, and you know what I’m happy about? Because I’ve been saying it for a long time. 46% were the Hispanics—46%, No. 1 one with Hispanics. I’m really happy about that.

“I could not agree with Ted Cruz more on this.”

Then you’re clearly uniformed.

“This is supposed to be the smartest guy in the room?”

Well... When the room otherwise only has Rove, Willard and Yeb...

“IMO, he is the Republican version of Obamie.”

100% just at the different type of extreme.

And Trump, as always, was leg-pulling. Or joking for the low-info Cruz voters.

Although the federal lands thing was a mistake on Trump’s part, Trump has consistently praised the American People for being smarter than they are given credit for. He’s one of us, he’s a good guy, he talks with us not down to us.

OK. What do you base that assessment on? From everything I know about Trump, this might be how he really feels or it might just be him working a deal. How do you tell the difference?

thank you and very much appreciated. I’m sending him a letter now letting him know he was my first choice until two weeks ago when he went establishment.

I am happy to engage in rational discourse with anyone who can reciprocate. Trump followers are generally not capable of rational discussion. Look at you and your comment to me. Not a single thought other than insult and denigration. I didn’t just start posting yesterday, I have been here for a while, certainly long enough to reach some pretty solid conclusions about the Trump devotees.

And you are telling me that Senator Cruz was not a Canadian Citizen from birth until May, 2014? All other virtues he may have are demolished with this acknowledged fact. Sorry.

“Meaning: Cruz is saying that Southerners are stupid.”

Yes. The Consistently Caviling Carpetbagger just branded his own backside with that one.

” I’ve lost all respect for Cruz.”

Yeah, he shouldn’t have said it, but I’m willing to cut him some slack if he backs off of it.

Soon.

As a Cruz supporter, I appreciate your analysis. It makes sense and is not full of the “Cruz is establishment” BS. I quit reading anything a Trump supporter posts if it lumps Cruz as GOPe. I worry about Trump “negotiating” as that historically means the ball still moves to the left just more slowly. We’ve seen that too many times. I need to hear “the government is too damn big” from Trump.

Ted Cruz is not a very honest person. He says stuff that is out of context half truths. This is one reason I hate politicians, very slimy. I’d rather have the f-word.

…says niki on a thread about an article created from out of context half-truths…and a bit of malicious spin.

Wow, that's a lot of mental gymnastics you had to undergo to arrive at that conclusion. And you put the whip cream on top by saying that you are right because Trump supporters can't be reasoned with.

Problem is Teddy is having a meltdown here, he sees the nomination slipping away. Your platitudes and false pretenses do nothing to belie that fact that your hero stepped in a big pile of dog doo and insulted a large portion of people that will think twice before ever voting for him. He's in total meltdown mode only you are too blind and devoted to him to see it. And please don't lecture us about conservatism. Cruz has had three years to prove that to us and has yet to accomplish anything except to blow hot air. His cuddling with crazies (Beck,Campaign Mgr) and RINOs provides further proof that he is a conservative of convenience.
