For the 3.9% increase in sales tax, I would have to make $54,000 more than I am making now and spend all of it. So, yeah, it is a good deal for the locals who work and earn wages. Not so good for visitors and those who live off government checks.

That’s true. That’s what happens when you don’t have a state income tax. They only tax you when you spend money. Save it and you’re gold.

Actually, I do have some Portugal bonds yielding 22%. I wish I had bought more. No Greek bonds. I have a smattering of PR bonds...all paying: CUSIPS 74514LTL1 and 74529JLN3. Not too happy about my 74514LWZ6 and 74514LWA1. Bought those at 77 and they are trading around 62. HOWEVER, they have paid, and as the old saying goes, “The day they pay, they’re AAA!”

Dallas (or more likely Plano or the mid-Cities) is a more likely location for In-n-Out. There are about 20 in the Metroplex and another 7 scattered down I-35.

Phoenix would be another option, with 17 locations and another 7 down I-10.

9.9% sales tax is not such a bad trade-off if you are a wage earner there.
