That is the precise problem.
Studies show that the National Death Rate is holding steady at 100%.
People waste away from a lot of things not just cancer. Hell, they waste away from living itself if they hang around long enough. So sure, bump them off when it all starts to offend you. What could possibly go wrong?

Yup, the devil is in the ever-changing “details.” The simple fact of the existence of this law, shows once again the moral depravity of some in our country. When the Soylent Green runs low, old folks had better look out!
Succession of the union was an issue over slavery in the 1840’s and then on. can we make ejection from the union of states that fail to abide by the constitutional requirement of a republican form of government?
California has been committing suicide for about 20 years.
The movie I remember (read the book first) was Logan’s Run. Anyone over 21 was undesirable (over population was the current mass scare at the time the book was written) and required to go to a sleep shop on their 21st birthday. They were given a lethal dose of a pleasure drug that killed them. If they ran from this mandatory death sentence,they were hunted down and murdered with an excruciatingly painful ammo.
Yeah. “Assisted suicide” is just the “camel’s nose”. IMHO.
This is a Pandora ‘s box that should never be opened .

Terry was burning thru the ex-Husband's big million dollar settlement at the nursing home !
The nursing home could not get her qualified for Medicare or Medicaid so the hubby made up a story about some phony conversation she never and they starved her death .

I read about this a while ago — seems to have many safeguards.
I didn’t read the book but I do have the DVD. Instead of a sleep shop, the movie depicts a “renewal” levitating carousel in which they burst into flames.
I was only kidding of course.

What happens down the road, when it is okay to “abort” children up to five and “assist end of life decisions” for those 55 and up?
And, as for the terminally ill, what if that cure is moments away?
Don’t go down this road, folks.
Life, even a difficult life, is a precious gift.
I would suggest that not everyone with terminal illness would agree, some may, some may not.
There it is: “Let’$ take crazy Uncle tumblindice and rich Uncle gay state conservative to Dr. Death and put them out of their misery.”
Money changes hands and many rich relatives will soon die after a visit to the local hospital.

In other countries, this has led to government euthanasia. It’s a very dangerous door you are opening.
