The candidate is responsible to not create an environment where when these thugs show up, the supporters want to beat the crap out of them based on previous statements by the candidate.
I have been involved in many pro life demonstrations where I have had to keep my cool under much duress.

I watched it. Cruz talked at length about the general tone etc. promoting violence. At NO time did Cruz say Trump or anyone else was responsible.
The YouTube video provided in post #202 does show Trump himself actually encouraging violence at his rallies.
This morning in one of the many emails I get from political organizations, I noticed one saying that BLM was being encouraged to disrupt tonight’s rallies. As usual, I deleted all those emails as just so much noise. But this is how the real enemy uses Trumps words to stir up our enemies and then encourages us to blame Cruz. (Sorry I didn’t hang onto that email but they constantly promote controversy so I didn’t give it special notice.)

Somebody would have to be mentally challenged to believe that Donald Trump was serious when he said he’d pay the legal bills of anyone who assaulted a protester at one of his rallies. Good luck collecting that check! Today and for the past several decades ALL (meaning 99.999%) of assaults on peaceful protesters have come from the left. ALL (same definition) efforts to curtail free speech have come from the left.
I remember when I was in college all the lefties were fond of the saying, “I might not like what you are saying but I’ll defend with my life your right to say it.” They were all liars, just like Lying Ted, a man with many fine qualities but who also has serious flaws and who has lost my admiration.

Yeah I told my husband he has had several opportunities to distinguish himself and he flushed them.
That is simply not true.
It was despicable. He could have done the American people a favor and said that violent disruptions should not be tolerated and left it at that. But no...he had to blame violent protests on Trump. As if violence is an appropriate response to disagreements on public policy. Wow. Scum.

I noticed a few days ago Cruz was assuming leadership of the “anti-Trump” vote and throwing conservatives under the bus. He’s completely calibrated to mainstreaming himself and getting that vote now. Conservatives are dead to him.
Cruz said Trump’s campaign “disrespects the voters.” Not great way to win over more supporters.
