Just remember my mother comforting our neighbor whose son was MIA. (The family had moved in my Sr. year and he headed to Vietnam as he was a year older, so I really didn’t know Doug). One of the few times I ever heard my mother use a swear word about any person. The details of hearing etc elude me but I certainly remember the results.

I’m not sure I like this Christie/Trump townhall format.
The problem, well, A problem, as I see it, is that the barn as now constituted creates the rats.
One of the most daunting challenges we face is that far too often, what seems to be a pretty good guy or gal, often a state Rep. or the like, with a pretty decent record, goes to Washington as a Senator or Representative, and the next thing you know... (I don’t really have to describe further, do I?)
This is exactly what happened with my current Congressional Rep., who I’ve been voting for, for over 20 years, 1st locally, and then as a US Rep. I may vote against him in the primary, IF there is even a challenger. (I’ve seen nothing to indicate that there is.)
To be fair, my Rep is good on several issues like guns, the environment (got a “0” from an environut group), and so on. But, he’s voted GOPe on the budget, caved on ObamaCare, and several other votes. He’s done nothing to try to stop Obama on the “biggies” (bills), that I can tell.
Maybe the barn does not need to be burned, but, most of it sure as heck needs to be ripped out. We no longer have a generation to recover / remodel, one board at a time.
