Predictably, the political right and left are in a tizzy over the prospect [of Trump winning the GOP nomination], but for different reasons. On the right, it is a "moral and character issue" according to Erick Erickson, organizer of Conservatives Against Trump. A group of conservative activists met and drafted a statement denouncing Trump but said activists declined to sign the statement or otherwise identify themselves. Surprising that they would not all be proud to publically stand against Trump rather than scheme against him behind closed doors.
The GOP establishment is also down on The Donald because, in their opinion, he would lose badly to Hillary Clinton. Karl Rove takes it farther, promising, "If Trump is the nominee, the GOP will lose the White House and Senate." Severely conservative Mitt Romney agrees: "a Trump nomination enables her [Hillary Clinton's] victory." Even severely underwhelming presidential candidate Lindsey Graham says of Trump, "He's going to lose badly."
The left too is in panic mode about Trump's march to the nomination. At first glance, this makes no sense. If Trump is as bad a candidate as Rove, Romney, Graham, and others believe, the left should be doing handsprings over the prospect of him being the candidate to face Clinton in the general election and lose in a landslide. Instead of criticizing Trump, big media should be quietly encouraging his candidacy, running their own version of operation chaos.

So why are Democrats suddenly reaching across the aisle in a rare display of bipartisanship to join their Republican foes in opposing Donald Trump's candidacy? Are they really looking out for the best interests of the Republican Party?

The answer always arrives in disguise. EE and the punditry class can list the problems, they have NEVER PROVIDED A SOLUTION. Trump will gut the federal government... It’s pretty easy to ID ~10 RINO Senators up for re-election this year who need to be sent to spend more time with their families.

Rove always has been a major pandering RINO. He, like the rest of the establishment, are AFRAID of what Trump might do to clean up the bent GOPe. They want to protect their “it does not matter who wins” cushy pandering to keep their bucks flowing in. As far as Trump in the general election, he is the ONLY candidate that has the position and will to really fight Hillary and her crimes and Marxist agenda. Cruz is in second place but does not come out like Trump in this regard.
We shall see. The GOPe has much at stake now — the informed electorate knows what they are about and WHY they do not want Trump. So do we.

I think the left is afraid of both Trump and Cruz, but more afraid of Trump. Neither of them bow down to the political correctness used to shame conservatives. Cruz is the more polite and reasoned of the two - Trump just flat doesn’t care.
Unlike the typical Trump-Cruz angst around here I find this refreshing about both of them. I do wish Trump would be a little more “polished”, but at the end of the day I don’t want candidates who roll over for this crap.

Being that I prefer to understand America’s enemies, I frequently peruse a good deal of libtarded trash news sites. Salon, Slate, Rolling Stone, Newsweek, Time, etc...
It’s a good mix between “how stupid are Conservatives?” and “oh my God the apocalypse is here if Trump wins”. They are their normal, contemptuous, condescending selves throughout, but there is a strong vein of fear running through everything they write these days.
They know Hillary is weak, and they know Ted Cruz and Kasich are weak too. If either of those two, or someone like them, gets the nomination, it will be a business-as-usual election where some lawyers stand up on stage and play semantic Harvard word games for 2 hours, putting the country to sleep and ensuring low turnout on both sides.
If Trump is there, half of America is going to tune in every night, and Republicans are going to have record turnout. It will be a tidal wave, and they all suspect it. You can tell from their tone.
