“It is striking that the day after Donald Trump called for America weakening NATO, withdrawing from NATO, we see Brussels, where NATO is headquartered, the subject of a radical Islamic terrorist attack,” Cruz told reporters in Washington on Tuesday.

Great, so in addition to violent leftist BLM riots, Cruz is now blaming Trump for terrorism in Belgium.

Lyin Ted.

Trump did not say that USA should exit NATO. Trump said NATO should PAY their fair share for US interventions and equipment. No more freebies.

Yeah instead the USA(annual GDP 17.3 trillion) should continue paying our hundreds of billions defending the EU (Annual GDP 18.5 trillion) /s

It’s long past the time that Nato should be disbanded. It’s mission is over. If Europe isn’t willing to muster the strength and capacity to defend itself why should the US continue to bleed it’s treasury to prop them up? I wholeheartedly agree with Donald Trump.

Dunce, indeed.

Cruz needs to shut up, go back to the senate and try not to screw that up any worse than he already has.

NATO would have stopped this? Really Ted? You’re getting to be a real toad. STOPPING IMMIGRATION FROM MUSLIM COUNTRIES WOULD HAVE STOPPED THIS.

It has nothing, nothing to do with NATO.

Why...because NATO has done so much to stop the Islamic invasion of Europe?

Damn - i liked Cruz - but he just abandoned an important issue which Trump correctly grabbed.

NATO’s mission ended 25 years ago. Since then, it has become an agent and facilitator of the progress-left, soft-fascist, social-engineering and statism of the EU Left. It has facilitated the establishment of a Saudi-sponsored Wahabbist state in South Europe. It is overseeing stability in Europe, while EU culture slowly commits suicide.

If Europe can afford 2 million illiterate, backward Muslims per year, it can afford to defend itself.

END this nonsense now.

NATO was created to fight the expansion of the old Soviet Union. The Soviet Union formed the Warsaw Pack, and the Cold War was on.

NATO’s old mission is over—we won. Today, it is a poor tool for fighting modern threats like terrorism.

Today’s Russia has its own Islamic terrorism problem, and has as much reason to fight Islamic terrorism as we do.

Not Captain Stupid. Cruz is Captain Disgusting here.

Cruz couldn't even wait a day before turning this into an anti-Trump moment. What a terrible, and pathetic, thing to do.

Oh come on, Ted!

I’d like to point out that Trump isn’t a fan of the UN either, as he pointed out at the AIPAC conference yesterday. I don’t recall hearing Cruz say a word about getting out of the UN or, at the very least, “encouraging them to find a new home more in line with their criticism of the United States and Israel.” I’m sure a wealthy New York real estate tycoon could make something actually useful out of the UN building - after it was completely fumigated, of course.
