Cruz supported dozens of amendments to the Gang of Eight. To take how the bill would stand after a single one of those amendments and portray that as what Cruz “pushed for” is beyond deceitful; it is an outright lie.
Cruz did say he want to pass immigration reform. He said his amendment to offer non-citizenship status to remaining illegal amnesty would make the then-current immigration reform package more likely to pass. Seeing ONLY the clips of his comments during the debate on the vote, one could reasonably infer that he would vote for the package if only that amendment passed.
But no Senator could have been misled, because they had all seen him push for all the other amendments.
"Diversity" is DEATH!

I really believe that before this is all over— Cruz will be so thoroughly demonized by trump supporters that literally no one or any group will surpass Cruz in their constructs of evil.

Really? TRUMP castigated Romney for the harshness of his tepid self-deport strategy in 2012. Both men were very wrong about immigration issues, and recently! Ted changed when presented with the reality of companies abusing the system. Donald changed when he decided to run for President.

If Trump can change his mind about ANYTHING (e.g. abortion, healthcare, H1-B, you name it), then Cruz HAS changed his mind on what he said way back in the past.

Yes, at the time Cruz was advocating for this policy. Then he heard testimony from Disney employees and changed his mind.
Yes, Trump advocated a freeze in immigration, until a few weeks ago when he “softened” on that issue and now advocates increasing H1B1 visas....
If it was such a terrible policy for Cruz to support, then it should be equally as terrible for Trump. Somehow, I doubt that will be very clear in this thread tho.
