Donald Trump's son, Eric, blasted Sen. Ted Cruz on Wednesday over an ad released by an anti-Trump PAC that takes aim at Trump's third wife.
The ad of a scantily clad Melania Trump was circulated in Utah by Make America Awesome PAC, which is not affiliated with the Cruz campaign. But that didn't stop Trump from linking Cruz to the ad on Twitter Tuesday night and threatening to "spill the beans" on the Texas senator's wife, Heidi.
"I noticed this morning ... Ted Cruz is saying things about Melania, and your father fired back," Fox News' Ainsley Earhardt told Eric Trump during an interview Wednesday morning.
Trump responded with the suggestion that Cruz's "super PAC is him" and continued to blast his father's opponent.
"I think it's disgusting to tell you the truth," he told the trio of "Fox & Friends" hosts. "Just to be completely honest, here's a man who praises — he's always talking about morality, I'm going to take the high road, and yet he does that."
"I mean, that's the sick part of politics," Trump said, adding that his stepmother is "an amazing woman."
He continued, "She's solid as a rock. She's an amazing mother. It's sick that [Cruz] did that."

Secondly issues involving family are much different from general topics. Anyone who has ever competed for public office is a aware of the difference.
Think about the fact that you would have still gotten the benefit of the ads even if you disavowed them but you could also have claimed the high ground. Now we can see that Ted is not only willing to use deplorable actions for gain but also that he is such a poor chess player that he can’t even position himself properly to best advantage. The same was true in Iowa; he glories in what better men would be ashamed of.

No, Cruz is a naturalized citizen, who obtained citizenship by statute and no amount of fingers in the ears is going to change that.
We may no longer be a Nation of Laws and it may not matter but Cruz himself knew perfectly well the definition of NBC before he decided to run for POTUS and conveniently forgot he was a Canadian citizen until 14 months ago and sealed his naturalization records.

The point is not that there is a particular problem with Heidi—but everyone has some potential personal issues, they do not want tossed into a political campaign. Your focus should be on the cheap shot at Mrs. Trump. It wasn’t called for, and it should not be just accepted as fair politics.

What is wrong with posting the third Mrs. Trump’s photos? Cruz didn’t do it, but what is wrong with it?
