Crowd Boos When Donald Trump Mentions Scott Walker, Paul Ryan in Janesville, Wisconsin

“Total state debt is 45-billion dollars…very high, one of the higher ones. Twenty-thousand fewer people in labor force than seven years ago,” even though population has grown, Trump stated as he read aloud statistics about Wisconsin.

Trump noted he was unsure if these statistics were accurate, but went on to say, “He’s not doing a great job.”

“He doesn’t look like a motorcycle guy to me,” Trump mocked of Walker, who rides motorcycles.

Trump continued, “Unemployment rate, they have down 20 percent. That can’t be possible?”

“800,000 food stamp recipients,” Trump listed, “Middle class hit very, very hard due to loss of manufacturing jobs.”

“Wisconsin has lost 15,000 jobs to Mexico since NAFTA,” Trump charged about the North American Free Trade Agreement. “Kasich…he voted for NAFTA.”

“Both of them want TPP,” Trump said, referencing Kasich and Walker, who both support President Obama’s Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal. “That will make NAFTA look like a baby.”

“He’s a nice man,” Trump added about Walker, but then noted, “I gave him a lot of money” when he was fighting to be elected in Wisconsin.

He said Walker later visited Trump and gave him a plaque, “so, I’ll bring it,” Trump told the crowd. He noted that he is spending the week campaigning in Wisconsin, so he’ll bring the plaque when he returns.

Somehow I can’t see how p*ssing off Scott Walker voters is going to bring the party together or is to his benefit.
From what I have read, Walker has been doing a fine job in Wisconsin.

“Scott Walker is a popular governor among Republicans in Wisconsin. Not a good move on Trump’s part.”....Explain to me how it was Trump’s fault. He asked a simple question and the audience responded negatively toward Walker, so THAT is Trump’s fault how the crowd answered?

The highest possible alternative national unemployment-rate measure that has any credibility is around 15-16 percent.

Trump has also mentioned 41 or 42% in various speeches, which I believe he got from a David Stockman test calculation. The number that much higher would require virtually everyone of an employable age to hold a full time job, no exceptions. He needs to clean up this level of ridiculousness to even have a chance.

“Wisconsin has a 4.6% unemployment rate, which is under the national average”.....

And you got that number from where? If “you read it on the internet, it MUST be true” you say?

Are you both aware that these numbers exclude discouraged workers who have exhausted their unemployment compensation?

The real unemployment rate is much higher then the government “numbers”. They play around with who to include, and who to exclude to make things look a whole lot “prettier” than they actually are.

They do the same with “inflation” statistics, changing what’s included and what is excluded in the formula, so they don’t have to pay seniors enough to keep up with real inflation.

Just be suspicious of accepting gov’ment stats, until you actually check out how they are making up the formulas.

“Are you both aware that these numbers exclude discouraged workers who have exhausted their unemployment compensation?”

So the government is putting out 4.6% unemployment. but Real unemployment is 20%? that’s a bit of a leap, don’t you think?

If you believe gubmint numbers maybe. I do not believe any state has 4.6% unemployment. There are over 90 million adults not working in the USA.

I agree that nationally, the numbers are higher than reported. But you didn’t answer my question. If the statistics show 4.6% unemployment. Then is real unemployment 20% in Wisconsin? That’s a pretty big disparity. Where did he get that number?

I just did a quick search for an article from a source you might respect. This is the first one I found.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/louisefron/2014/08/20/tackling-the-real-unemployment-rate-12-6/#6a6c98291e12

This is an excellent resource on how the books get cooked. It is a subscription site, but I have discovered a lot by reading the free articles.

“We have become so desperate to get rid of the Dims (and I don’t blame us), that we elect moron “conservatives”. “

Can you name one that we elected? I’m still waiting for a name....of course I’m a little older now : )

I understand the difference between the U6 and what the government puts out. the U6 is hovering around 9.7% nationally. Which is double what the government statistics are. Now, what I’m asking is, where did trump get 20% from, when it would make more sense if the U6 was roughly 8% in Wisconsin, or double what the government is putting out?

You’re right. Trump has some issues right about Walker, but this one is off.

It is not as big as the disparity really is. U3 is reported at 5% nationally but 90+ million not working is around 40% of the adults in the US. Last summer David Stockman said the national unemployment rate was really 42.9% while the official gubmint U3 rate was 5.5%. It sounds like Trump may actually be understating it. I am not blaming Walker but the truth is that most people do not realize how badly we are screwed and how much of a lie gubmint numbers are. Politicians like using the gubmint numbers because the real ones would get them fired. There was a thread about it at the time on this site. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3306261/posts

Ok, so if the national number is around 40%, and trump says Wisconsin is at 20%. then doesn’t that mean Wisconsin is doing better than the national unemployment rate?

It means that nobody knows for sure. I bet that Walker is not saying it is 20%, which is his point. Maybe he figured nobody would believe the real number. You did not believe 20%, did you?

The only thing Trump forgot to do was tweet unflattering pictures of Tonette Walker. What a moron, picking fights with people he has no reason to.

Donald Trump's tweet of Heidi was in response to someone using a picture of his wife to support Cruz. As far as I can tell, noone has sent out a picture of Melania Trump to support Walker.

Maybe this will explain it better than I can. I read and understand it all, but am not able to put it back down as well as the original writer who is a professional.

Besides, everyone always want the source.
