A Quieted Donald Trump Quickly Turns on ‘Lyin’ Ted’
NY Slimes ^ | 4/5/16 | Maggie Haberman

Posted on 04/06/2016 2:41:19 AM PDT by markomalley

There was no news conference, there were no tweets. There was no steak, no wine, no bottled water.

And then, on what had been perhaps the quietest primary night of Donald J. Trump’s political career, there came an email flash. Just like that, “Lyin’ Ted” and the “Trojan horse” were back.

“Campaign statement,” read the email from Mr. Trump’s spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, delivered first to The Washington Post and then to others upon request.

At least this statement got posted on FR again. I still can’t believe that the thread on this subject was suspended last night even while CNN, Fox and all of the rest of the alphabets were talking about it.

He can’t grow up. I think he has mommy issues and that’s why he’s a serial adulterer and woman basher. There was a reason his parents sent him away to school and I have a feeling it was because he didn’t get much love at home. Why else would he continue to say to everyone he campaigns to that he loves them? He wants it to be reciprocal. You almost feel sorry for the dude

This morning on NBC, the campaign analysts actually sourced the "lose with Cruz" agenda of the Republican elite to Lindsey Graham. The elite don't even care that it'll bring down the party. The goal is for their agenda and their control to remain.

Meanwhile, the opposition is being triangulated. Sanders has all of those "mad as *ell" votes, and that nomination was rigged before the voting began. Are they calculating that if Bernie stays in the race and Cruz gets the nomination, even a badly damaged hillary would win in November?

What Trump needs is some infomercial type discussions where he spells out what Cruz represents. Perhaps get away from the large rallies; they're providing a focus where the anti-Trump forces bond in their protests. That and get the scandal confirmed, if there is one. Mygosh, I can't even look at or listen to Cruz anymore. Folks should be really skeptical of letting him get even this close to the presidency.. JMHO

-—Give me an jerk who stops the Muslim influx over a Presidential panderer any day.-—

Trump has the ability to not be a jerk and accept a lose with grace...

But instead he continues to pull the petulant child act...

“His Teflon demeanor is wearing thin!!!”

He never had a teflon demeanor. He has a substantial number of intensely loyal cultists who think he can say and do no wrong.

Referring to Ted Cruz, you wrote:

"He is a cog in the Gope machine, and realizes that all he has to do is subordinate himself to it and let the machine do the work for him. He is just a warm body that the Gope can play off of.
Notice how none of his supporters even care about issues anymore. It’s all about what delegate can they steal or what Gope guy can they parrot in their talking points."

The best indication of how closely Cruz is following the wishes of the "GOPe Machine" is his voting record in the Senate. If I was a GOPe Machine member I would be very, very disappointed in Senator Cruz. You are dead wrong about his allegiances. Take a look at the following Heritage Foundation chart and you will see the GOPe dunces at the bottom of the list and the true patriots at the top.

Thanks for posting that. I stayed up long enough last night to see CNN call Wisconsin for Lyin Ted. The GOP won big thats for sure. OK. They are trying very hard to make this look like A Waterloo when in reality It is more a Battle of the Bulge. Disappointed. Yes. Done. No way. Go Trump ☺

More WestleMania level rhetoric.

I have said from the beginning that Trump could win my vote. But, he’s going to have to get away from his childish raving for that to happen.

I understand anger, frustration and resentment. I understand it quite well. When I am in the midst of that, I actually feel very good about myself. But, there comes a day of reckoning, when all that negative takes its toll.

I know this will sound very “old school” and “old South” in a day of “hipsters, but Mr. Trump is simply not a Gentleman.

Not a person I would want to have dinner with, either.

A simple congratulations to Cruz and moving on would have ended the story, but his mouth/tweets made him look crass again.

He did a great job of tapping into a great American pain, but his mouth proves every day he is not the man to fix those problems.

I’m very sorry to say this, but after three choruses “I’ll make America great again,” Hillary would kill him in a debate.

I wish he had become a man I/we could like as a person, but he moves further away from that every day.
