Without saying it, Reince Priebus just told Sean Hannity Tuesday on Fox News that one of the three candidates currently in the running Trump, Cruz, Kasich WILL BE the nominee.
And he wont count out Kasich?
When pressed by Hannity that theres no way Kasich can be the nominee for all the Rules reasons, Priebus refused to agree.

Kasich is extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely unlikely to win a single state from here on out. But there ARE still about 17 or 18 states left. So it would be improper for Reince to declare Kasich can’t win.
Take what he says simply as an assurance that there will not be some mysterious, last-minute candidate pop in. Not that Reince and other GOPe folks wouldn’t LIKE that, but you’d have to get rid of Rule 40B, and since Trump and Cruz both oppose that, lotsa luck.
It’s a whole different ball game after the first ballot from what I understand.
The GOPe will use the results in New York to push the Lasich narrative. He will finish second to .trump in New York with Cruz probably under 25%. If Trump carries a higher percentage of votes from New York than Cruz did in Texas that will be important as a comparison.
New York and the media markets of Connecticutt, Maryland, Rhode Island are expensive. WIsconsin was cheap by comparison. Cruz has no built in political leadership in those states to use their leverage to help.
The next set of states also give Kasich a good chance of finishing second to Trump and possibly even taking one of them. I do not see a possibility of a Cruz win before May in Indiana.
CRuz will lose a lot of momentum between now and Indiana. He was swimming downstream in WIsconsin. It will be all upstream against a rough current in New York.
I watched the interview and completely agreed with Mr. Priebus’ refusal to rule out Gov Kasich as Hannity kept trying to get him to do. Hannity being Hannity could not grasp the fact that as chairman of the party, Mr. Priebus is in almost the same situation as the referee in a sporting event. He can not offer his opinion of anyone’s chance of winning the nomination. He just emphasised that the nominee would almost certainly be one of the active candidates.
G-d forbid! McCain and Romney were disgraceful excuses for candidates. They did everything in their power to LOSE and leave the country to the predation of the Odungo demon. If this is how the present GOP works, then it's time for it to ride off quietly into the sunset. That is not a winning strategy for America and not a strategy to ensure our safety and prosperity.
all 3 of them might be..
it has yet to be seen for 2 of them.
Other than he needs over 100% of the remaining delegates to win it....
you might be on to something.
I also don’t think rule 40 will be changed. with the bulk of the delegates being trump or Cruz delegates they would be stupid to change it.
if rule 40 stands (and with Cruz/Trump delegates being most of them.. why wouldn’t it?) Yeb! can’t be the nominee.
There is NOTHING more conservative than stopping a permanent democrat/marxist voting majority and doing whats best for the people and the country. By virtue of Mr. Trumps position on illegal immigration he Trumps all others conservatism.
The ONLY reason he’s running ahead of Hillary is because he hasn’t been run through the year-long media meatgrinder Trump and Cruz have.
Weak, watery boomer creep kasich will be a grease spot in the general versus hilldog.
Unfortunately, that media meat grinder has been pretty effective.
Priebus: This is what Ill say, I think the nominee will be someone whos running
Rubio, anyone???
Oh, Kasich can’t win outright. But let’s say Cruz and Trump both imploded somehow, Kasich could (won’t... but could) still win 8 winner-take-all states, qualify, and win the 2nd round.
IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. I’m not insane enough to think that it won’t. But just as a team down 30 games with 32 games left in the season is still a contender, so is Kasich, officially. And Priebus is trying here, I believe, to get out of the job of prognostication and into the task of settling the nerves of Republican voters.
