Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani will be voting for a fellow New Yorker: Donald Trump.

"I support Trump. I'm gonna vote for Trump," Giuliani told The New York Post Thursday about his voting intentions in the state's April 19 Republican primary.

It was reported that Giuliani was to meet with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz Thursday, but according to Giuliani, that meeting happened months ago.

Cruz's comments about "New York values" were a big factor for Giuliani.

I respectfully disagree. When you are a businessman in the league of Trump you hedge your bets. No matter who is elected you want to be able to call them and say you supported them. You contribute to all. Check out the donations of corporations and the operations of lobbyists - this is common.

It's just playing the game. I believe Trump is plenty smart enough to realize he's playing a different game now.

I believe it’s illegal to promise someone a position in your administration if elected, but Trump does it. He probably did it with Giuliani.
