I keep wondering what Kasich knows. He must have known something about Condit and Chandra. And the gossip back in the day was that Kasich, Condit, and Hastert were seen at sex parties in DC. And at the time, people pooh poohed it: no way would the Speaker of the House risk such things?! But now we’ve come to know what a sick perv he was. So what did Kasich know about Hastert? Anything criminal? Does he protect his cronies from justice in molestation and murder? Is he suitable for our presidency?
Hastert knew his own history, and he allowed himself to become speaker of the house representing one political party’s brand.
What if his molester history would have been exposed when he was speaker? Hastert couldn’t have known that wouldn’t happen....or could he?
..... Apparently .... our leaders are dwelling not only here .... but also within the netherworlds of the things that we most hopefully detest.
The two key questions in this Hastert affair are — Why is he being outed? Why at this point in time?
If you believe conspiracy theories suggesting most politicians are being extorted, the Hastert outing doesn’t make sense. There is an implicit bargain in extortion— if you do what I want, I will protect your secret. Denny was retired from his position of power. He served his masters while serving as Speaker. Out of office he was of no more use to them. Typically when the corrupt retire they are left alone. The bargain is — if you play ball in office you retire wealthy and we leave you alone.
Hamster has been outed. The only possible reason is to send a very strong message to some one or some people still playing the game that they can be destroyed. The message is particularly strong on many levels:
1). The implicit bargain with Denny was broken. He kept his end of the bargain and the puppet masters still destroyed him. This tells others complete obedience does not make them safe. Therefore they are vulnerable always, even if they do everything expected of them.
2). Hastert was third in line for the top job. His destruction seems to be a message to someone very high in the food chain.
3). Hastert was long out of office and was brought down by an administration of the opposite party. Historically when administrations change from one party to another the members of the previous regime are never prosecuted. There is a quid pro quo because members of the new administration know they will be out of power some day. Howerver in the current situation a Democrat administration, that is notorious for not prosecuting corruption, has destroyed a former House Speaker of another party years after he left office. This seems to be a message to every Republican on two levels. The first is we can get you anytime we want no matter who you are. The second message is we aren’t afraid of you doing anything to us if you take control of the White House in the next election.
With the Hastert prosecution the Obama administration has changed the Washington rule book. It is throwing out the long standing bargain that if you play ball you’ll be protected. It is also discarding the rule that says you don’t prosecute high ups of the other party when they are out of office. the Obama team is telling the Republicans it does not fear being prosecuted when out of office. This is the equivalent of Iran taking out a US carrier in the Persian Gulf knowing there will be no response. Obama is publicly telling Republicans they are completely impotent.
Consider also, now that he is outed and has been destroyed, why is Hastert remaining silent? What could he lose now except for his life?
