Jim Hoft Apr 10th, 2016 11:42 am 16 Comments

Just how dirty is Ted Cruz? This dirty…

Attorney Chris Gober is cofounder of Citizen Super PAC and a staunch Ted Cruz supporter.

...

Citizen Super PAC recently released “Heil Trump” comparing Donald Trump to Hitler.

[Me: from a link provided by Gateway Pundit: "Chris Gober Chris Gober represents more than 100 active clients—including U.S. Senators, Representatives, and multibillion-dollar companies—in litigation, federal investigations, and political compliance matters. He currently serves as legal counsel for Senator Ted Cruz’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Chris has been honored as the “U.S. Government Lawyer of the Year” by Lawyer Monthly and other publications in 2013, 2014, and 2015, and he has been named to The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 list. He has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” for Legislative and Governmental Affairs by Super Lawyers and Texas Monthly magazines in 2014 and 2015, and he was featured in Texas Lawyer’s “Legal Leaders on the Rise” edition spotlighting 25 up-and-comers in the Texas legal community. Chris was also one of two attorneys in the country selected by Aristotle Inc. to the 2011 Republican Dream for his work on behalf of Republican political clients."]

ANYONE, no matter who, that portray any American politician with the image of one of the world’s worse butcher should go to JAIL. It’s such an offensive un-American posting with no merits in life. Has nothing to do with free speech !!!

So you think the people who posted these images should be jailed – arrested, tried and convicted and then jailed and just curious…..under what law exactly?

Don’t try lecture me in what’s wrong or right, morally!!!

Not lecturing you but simply pointing out that while offensive, in poor taste, over the top, this type of speech, political speech in particular is guaranteed and protected under the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution. I thought that naturalized citizens like yourself had to pass a US Civics test in order to become naturalized?

Can picture you one of the former Woodstock crowd???

Along with a poor understanding of the 1st Amendment, you also have a vivid imagination. And when you can’t defend or civilly debate your position, just hurl an insult like “you one of the former Woodstock crowd???.”

Would you like to see anyone who did go to Woodstock jailed also? Just asking. BTW I was only 8 years old at the time and my parents were anything but “hippies”.

I thought that the ad was Glenn Beck’s brainchild. What this means is that Cruz has at least two severely mentally ill people speaking for him.

NOT a nationally televised commercial

Good point, it goes further, it's on the world wide web.

What is your evidence that the Cruz campaign had anything to do with that

Ya know how many times I've heard this cockn'bull comment in regards to the Cruz campaign? Once again, Cruz is just an honorable innocent by-stander here. Right?

Gak.

Oh, Mr. lover of political correctness, Donald Trump is trying to keep out the Mexican drug cartels who are bringing in tons of MEXICAN BROWN HEROIN which is killing thousands of our people. The “other” is just a smarmy expression used by Social Justice Warriors. You Cruz extremists will hide behind any tree stump just to take your unmerited potshots at Trump.

Awesome Ad.

I wonder if Trump studied Hitler’s speeches to copy them or that kind of similarity just comes with the common form of fake populism

Not too bright are ya?

Hanging around Trump fans is not exactly conducive towards positive results in that department.

So Trump’s guy states correctly that those techniques are being employed.

Lying is the choice of Trump fans it seems. Trump says he is the king of negotiation, yet he is being out maneuvered because his grass root fans are shallow and never took the time to play the convention game because they never cared for their country enough to begin with. Screaming insults on the internet and swamping online polls seems is all they are capable of.

What do we know about Trump and Hitler? Well we know Trump's wife in her book said he kept a book of Hitler speeches. We know Trump has Twittered a Mussolini quote. We know Trump claimed a Jewish fellow (Marty Davis) gave him a book of speeches (My New Order), but Davis wasn't Jewish at all (and denied being Jewish publicly).

When Cruz repeats over and over that Trump is for single payer, knowing it’s a lie, people notice.

Ohh good grief, of all the subjects you could of picked you went for the one Trump has probable flipped on the most. Hard to pick a subject he hasn't flipped on, but you picked a doozy.

http://www.ontheissues.org/2016/Donald_Trump_Health_Care.htm

It is not the government's job to be "compassionate"... Trump recently proclaimed it was. How exactly do you get healthcare for all without single payer?

It’s sad really, he probably had potential but is now tainted with the stank of McConnell/Ryan/Romney/Hatch and the illustrious Club for Growth.

Odd, I guess the stank that Trump gave $2,600 to McConnell's primary campaign and $2,600 to his general election fund, the legal limit for an individual donor must be above your pay grade. But you can rest well knowing Trump gave more to Hillary and other democrats.

Moral and ethics, yet I know these are very rare existing today in the United States of America!!! Maybe something YOU don’t like either ???

Moral(ity) and ethics I do like, very much so and I strive to put them into practice in all areas of my life, in all my personal and business relationships and interactions, each and every day.

But we are a Nation of Laws and not, or at least we not meant to be, a nation men or of hurt feelings. We have a real problem of late with anything that is determined by someone else to be “hate speech” or something that the offended party thinks are “trigger words”, especially on, but not limited to college campuses.

In the United States of America, the US Constitution is (or is supposed to be) the supreme law of the land and that includes the 1st Amendment.

You said: “ANYONE, no matter who, that portray any American politician with the image of one of the world’s worse butcher should go to JAIL. It’s such an offensive un-American posting with no merits in life. Has nothing to do with free speech !!!”

I then asked you: “So you think the people who posted these images should be jailed – arrested, tried and convicted and then jailed and just curious…..under what law exactly?” The images BTW were of George W. Bush, Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton all portrayed as being “like Hitler”.

Again, I ask you as you’ve not answered - do you think the people who posted these images should be jailed – arrested, tried and convicted and then jailed and just curious…..under what law exactly? You said ANYONE, no matter who….

Or does that only apply to when your guy is compared to Hitler?

The 1st Amendment prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances.

The US Constitution as to the freedom of speech protects many forms of expression including political speech. It doesn’t grant the speaker a guaranteed audience or force anyone to agree with it, but nor does it protect anyone hearing it from being offended.

There are of course some limitations to speech such as the common sense “can’t yell fire in a crowded theater”, child pornography, public obscenities, etc. And there are limitations as to speech that is libelous or slanderous and known to be both purposely malicious and factually false, however there is a very high bar to meet when it comes to public figures or politicians.

It might be one thing “if” I publically published an article that said for instance (and no - I’m not claiming this and would find such a claim to be vile and disgusting but as an example): “I know for a fact that Donald Trump is a Nazi as I’ve seen him dress up as Hitler and on these dates…, he as a swastika tattoo on his left but cheek which I’ve seen and I know that he reads Mein Kampf every night before going to bed because I’ve slept with him many times including just last week and I know for a fact that he really wants to and did in fact have sex with his daughter and wants to turn the US into his own personal dictatorship based on Nazism because he told me so.” vs. “I find the similarities to many of Trump’s positions and statements to that of Adolf Hitler to be quite disturbing”.

The former would be libelous and something for which if I actually said and published them and claimed they were true, I could be sued by Donald Trump for libel and slander - rightly so, but the latter would be a free expression of thought that is guaranteed under the Constitution. I find it disturbing how so many don’t understand the difference.

If you would like to continue the conversation, whether we agree or not, but on a rational basis and without the implied insults, I’m happy to do so.
