Voters, we need no stinking voters.
The day the GOP died.
Yup, the GOP died on August 25, 2015.
Story says the move “may hurt” anti-establishment candidates such as Trump, Carson, and Rand Paul.
So this was done in advance in order to “hurt” them.
But, but, but, but...this was clearly a move BY Cruz.
SHUT UP!!!
Who asked YOU anyway??
We do just what we goddamn PLEASE, and exactly WHEN we please!
.......now get back in your kennels like good little doggies.
This will backfire.
Eh. States which have their primaries in June haven’t had a part in the nomination process in decades.
The GOP is a private club, not a govt democracy. They choose their rules, and citizens choose which club to join.
Trump expects the nomination to be handed to him. I thought conservatives were against an entitlement attitude?
Colorado’s convention rules were set last year, but due to the Trump campaign’s negligence and ineptitude, he failed to secure a single delegate. I thought Trump had a brilliant business mind and was an expert on deal-making?
His whining about this proves he’s another thin-skinned petulant narcissist and we don’t need another one of those after the past 7+ years.
Cruz has a tin ear when it comes to regular folks. He thinks he is so much smarter than everyone else that he can game the system and still win.
What he is doing is actually showing his true colors.
Very smart...no character.
Tell me, how did Cruz “game the system” in Colorado? They updated their rules last year! If Donald is the brilliant tactician he claims to be, his campaign would have studied up on the various state’s delegate rules and processes. You don’t claim to win the marathon after only running 18 miles.
Is my memory failing me? Before Mr. Trump came along, this wondrous Republican Party was talking about everything they were going to do to broaden their base. Now they're a private club?
The silver lining is that it'll be very difficult for Cruz to honestly attract any more voting fodder.
I thought conservatives were against an entitlement attitude?
Oh we are, apparently you aren't. Oh that's right, Cruz is anti-establishment. Some people are just so gullible that they fail to see the truth even when it is right out there in the open. Oh are they going to be so upset when they finally do see the truth about whom they chose to support. Say bye bye America, and welcome North American Community. Welcome cheap labor from around the world, bye American citizens you are no longer needed or wanted.
Trump either knew the rules and was lazy, or he didn’t know the rules and he was lazy in not knowing them. Either way, blaming this on Cruz ignores Trump’s ignorance.
Cruz has out-organized a man who brags about landslide victories when almost 2/3 of the republican voters didn’t vote for him.
As for actual votes, Cruz’s piece of the voter pie has been rising while Trumps has remained static in recent contests.
The entire election process is becoming a sham.
“Trump either knew the rules and was lazy, or he didnt know the rules and he was lazy in not knowing them. Either way, blaming this on Cruz ignores Trumps ignorance.”
Agreed. If he had made all this noise back in August when the change was announced, or last week, before the conventions started in Colorado, it would seem a lot more genuine. Now it just comes off as being embarrassed that he got shut out.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the ‘regular people’ didn’t vote in North Dakota, either, did they?
Great point. The problem for the private club, however, is that they need public support to keep running.
The very insiders who want to succeed in November need the help of people that they shut out of their club in selecting their candidate.
You could argue, "Then join the club and be a part of the rule setting."
To which many would respond, "Who wants to be a member of a club like this?"
But in the process, he has accidentally outed a set of rules that may not appeal to the very people the Colorado GOP needs come November.
The Colorado GOP not only voted without public voters, they shut out the Trump delegates from even attending! All you
a-holes on this site doing a victory lap are cheerleading theft, cronyism, bribery and banana Republic rules of democracy. But I guess that’s why your all Cruz supporters in the first place right?
