I used to use it in some race discrimination cases where job performance was an issue by asking in depositions if the plaintiff had ever heard of "CPT". If they said yes, then I'd ask them to define it, get their thoughts, etc.. Always kind of fun because defense counsel would be looking on in horror....

J. Frank Dobie (1888-1964)was the folklorist from Texas for many years. In one of his many books he uses words that were accepted many years ago to describe this. I’m sure you can figure out the words. It isn’t about being late to an event. It is about slaves being given a task and making a minimal effort to accomplish the task in their own sweet time. They would work on it but would take much longer to accomplish than reasonably expected.
