Probably failed “urban renewal” from the 60/70’s era, although I would have to do a search to find out for sure. Many historic downtowns in upstate New York were seriously tampered with, funded by the federal bulldozer in the name of urban renewal in the 60’s and ‘70’s.

when you post a reply on the very top is the person to whom you are responding.
You add ADDITIONAL names (that is PINGING) by in that same place putting their screen name separated by semicolon ( ; ). The screen name must be accurately spelled. Close doesn’t cut it like in some forums where you are given a scroll down of potential names. Also watch for auto-correct.. It does “cute” things with screen-names!

JohnRob, The software here might need some tweaking. The last several posts I have made in addition to this one were to be in the original post to nikos1121.
The last entry of HTML was always cut off, so I decided to make separate posts. This has never happened prior. Normally you can make several link, graphic etc entries and all will post. They show up in the preview but NOT in the final post. Just a FYI matter.
We have downsized from our large historic stonehouse (hence my screen name) and are considering a move to “the middle of nowhere” once our youngest goes to college this fall. Our oldest and her husband live in rural Otsego County - beautiful but the area is afflicted by severe poverty due (not my daughter and husband personally, she is a nurse and they have an organic milk small diary operation), partially due to the mismanagement of the state by liberals.
We want to move out there at least part time but I am a bit worried about the errands being 30 minutes away, although I am fairly sure that the pros would outweigh the cons. Thoughts?
Our middle two daughters (20 somethings) live in Manhattan, Tribeca and lower Harlem, respectively, quite a contrast!
They have remained politically conservative though and can’t stand Di Blasio and like Trump.
Love that...we can see just how We The People are voting...
