A federal judge said Tuesday that the Confederate emblem on the Mississippi flag is "anti-American" because it represents those who fought to leave the United States.
But U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves is not yet saying whether he will fully consider a lawsuit that seeks to eliminate the flag as a state symbol.
Reeves heard more than three hours of arguments about motions in the lawsuit that Carlos Moore, an African-American attorney from Grenada, Mississippi, filed against the state. Moore is asking Reeves to declare the flag an unconstitutional relic of slavery.

Reeves is black, what cha think is gonna happen?
Looks like desperate Democratic race baiting to me. Pretty easy to see where they’re going with this nonsense. If we don’t take the bait, they’ll start desecrating the graves of confederate soldiers or worse to drag us into this fight so they can say to all the black voters, see they’re all racists just like we told you.
This nonsense doesn’t accomplish anything; without the Klan boogeyman blacks have to take a hard look at themselves, and they are demoralized by what they see. Seven years after having the communist mulatto take power, they realize they are still so far behind everyone else. I believe that was a key issue in Ferguson/Baltimore; Obama’s clock is running out, and blacks are in even worse shape than when he arrived.
It can’t be concealed from them anymore, and the whites they blame are disappearing demographically; that is why they’ve switched their sights to Asians, and will eventually focus on Hispanics as well. There won’t be any other audience for their grievances (and both of those groups couldn’t care less).
He hasn't ruled yet. The judges have no control over suits that are filed, but they do control suits that continue. The judge already raised doubts about standing and jurisdiction. We'll see if he let's it go further.
A non sequitur for the ages, you might say. Objects are not and can never be unconstitutional.
It will be interesting to see the reaction to this in Mississippi.
Many there are still a little peeved at the Federals. Including both of the remaining white Democrats.

Using that logic, colored people are a relic of slavery and should be banned.
this judge needs to be impeached for thinking he has any authority to do anything of the sort.

The US won the wars against England and the Confedercy. Why fly the flag of the losers?
The Union Jack was the flag of the Kingdom of Hawaii long after the revolution and prior to Hawaii’s acquisition by the US. But you don’t think that many Hawaiians would be happy to see that changed?
