George Pataki Endorses Kasich
On the Record with Greta

Posted on 04/14/2016 4:58:49 PM PDT by scottinoc

Former Gov Pataki endorses... John Kasich? Going all in for a contested convention apparently. Greta mentioned that he has only won one state. The Guv dodged the question and droned on about how Kasich is what America needs, blah blah...

Did y’all see John Kasich get schooled by that voter who wanted to know why he was in the race since his candidacy has never taken hold?

Kasich’s legendary nasty temper and attitude was barely concealed.

It was hilarious!

This Republican race is bizarre.

Candidates who finish third in a primary give a victory speech.

A candidate gave a victory speech regarding a state election that never happened.

Now, a former Governor endorses a candidate who is mathematically eliminated from the nomination.

“Did y’all see John Kasich get schooled by that voter who wanted to know why he was in the race since his candidacy has never taken hold?”

Someone posted, I have no idea of the truthfulness of the statement, that in Ohio the rules are that if Kasich drops out his delegates would legally fall to the number #2 finisher - Donald Trump. I do not know if that is his complete 100+ group of delegates or only those from Ohio.

If that is true then dropping out would be a defacto Trump endorsement

I’d be willing to bet this endorsement brings at least as much support as one from Lindsey Graham. A regular Battle of the Titans.

That’s it. Trump is now officially doomed! Kasich is certain to win with that big endorsement.

Next to Pataki, Jeb seems like high energy. Between the two of them there is 1 watt of energy. Two half wits make one watt.

They’re trying to get some delegates.

NY doles out delegates by congressional district. Three delegates each for 81 total. (Statewide winner gets 14 if over 50%. If less, it is proportional among those with 20% or more).

In the congressional districts, if Trump gets 50%, he wins all three delegates. If less than 50% then the delegates are allocated 2-1.

The idea is to keep Trump under 50% in as many districts as possible. (Of course also for Kasich or Cruz to win in districts with more conservative Republicans or more “moderate” Republicans - there may be one or two where this is possible).

I am not sure if there are any districts where strategic voting is indicated.

“Didn’t Trump knock the wind out of Pataki’s sails before his campaign even started?”

Pataki never had any wind in his sails.

With Pataki endorsing Johnny, guess he’s set to win NY.

I think Gilmore is still in the race. He’s trying to maintain a low profile.
