Priebus says he'd prefer GOP nominee run against Clinton than Sanders

By Julia Manchester, CNN

Updated 2229 GMT (0529 HKT) April 15, 2016

Washington (CNN) — Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said Friday he would prefer the GOP nominee run against Hillary Clinton than Bernie Sanders.

"I'd rather run against Hillary Clinton because she's defined, she's not liked, and in a popular cultural vote in America, that's a really important question, and she doesn't do well with that question," Priebus told CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

"I don't know what is going to happen with the FBI. So put her unpopularity together with another unknown that could make it harder for her -- I would rather run against Hillary Clinton," Priebus said on "Wolf," citing the ongoing investigation into Clinton's private email server that she used while she was secretary of state.

Priebus claimed Clinton's popularity would be a liability in a general election campaign.

"I think anybody who's analyzed this knows that Hillary Clinton is in the ditch. We don't know how far into the ditch she is going to go, but she's not doing well, she's not even winning. She's lost seven out of eight contests," he said.

Meaning when Hillary wins, they need the best guy to deliver a gracious concession speech. Rinse Reince, repeat.

Personally, I think even Kasich could beat Sanders. With Clinton, Kasich would lose, Cruz and Trump are maybes.

that’s a lie.

Bernie has HUGE support from the under 35s and leads the republicans by 5 or 10 more than her.

Sorry man, but I can’t stand this lie being posted over and over and over.

He would win, because two generations have been lost to the universities

Frightens the hell outta me. All I can think about is the ‘Red Guard’. I’m gonna be dead or in a gulag. As I come from a (perceived) “wealthy family^. And we’re not. But my parents are. Are they going to kill my parents first because they live in a big house in an affluent area?

Priebus may well vote for Mrs. Bill himself. There is predecent. John J. Raskob, former RNC chairman, endorsed Al Smith in the 1920s. At least one former DNC chairman, Jim Farley, may have endorsed a Republican, but I can’t remember which one.

I agree, Hillary would be far easier to beat... this is why I am hoping her prison sentence doesn’t start too soon

Both parties try to field most “beatable” candidates. Is this their version of photofinishing?

and if we are really lucky, there’ll be a way both party’s candidates can lose..
a vacancy will be far better than anything we’ve had in the WH these past 7 years, that’s for sure
