Pope Francis said his brief encounter Saturday with U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was a sign of good manners, “nothing more,” and hardly evidence of interfering in American politics. […]

“This morning when I left, Sen. Sanders was there. … He knew I was leaving at that time and I had the kindness to greet him and his wife and another couple who were with them,” the pope told reporters traveling back with him to the Vatican.

“When I came down, I greeted them, shook their hands and nothing more. This is good manners. It’s called good manners and not getting mixed up in politics. If anyone thinks that greeting someone means getting involved in politics, they should see a psychiatrist,” the pope said. …

And of course, the business in Ciudad Juárez, so close to El Paso, was not interference in US politics either.

Meanwhile the pope washes and slobbers on the feet of muslim koranderthals.
IF you are a Catholic, you should be ASHAMED of having this evil man as the highest representative of your church and those that elected him!

See a shrink? Not even a priest to confess the sin, if the act is wrong? (Which is the first thing I would think of in a Catholic context.)

This sounds like the way lefties attack. They make it personal, saying you have gone mad.

The insistence on having to keep someone in this office no matter how bad they got, seems to be an achilles heel of that segment of Christendom. It makes it easier to understand the SSPX people, the sedevacantists.

no pope, slow pope, francis looks like a got-to-go pope

(and yes, his shadow is cast on all of Christendom, even the crazy evangelicals, who now have to explain him too)

And by the same token, if being the Pope means he can decide who needs to see a psychiatrist then he needs to reevaluate what being a Pope means. I gave the Chuch the benefit of the doubt during the sexual abuse scandals as well as the rampant homosexuality. Then I stopped taking the Church seriously when Obama was invited to Note Dame. Now we can see this Pope is nothing but a liberal activist hiding in a robe and revealing exactly what the Vatican represents.

it is good manners to greet Bernie....

it is bad manners to say that the only reason you did so was because you have good manners

Would he have shaken hands with Trump if Trump happened to be in Rome at the time?

Or would he have deliberately avoided him, manners or no?

Pope Francis is an evil, dishonest, two faced man who tries to have everything both ways.

Sanders was invited to the Vatican to participate in a Vatican sponsored conference on the church's position on social and economic issues.

The chancellor for the pontifical academy, Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, said he invited Sanders because he was the only U.S. presidential candidate who showed deep interest in the teachings of Francis.

The Pope then meets with Sanders and the media make a big deal about it.

The Pope then does his typical obfuscation and said it was just “good manners”.

Sanders supports taxpayer funded partial birth abortion. He approves Obama’s campaign against Catholics including the Little Sisters of the Poor. Sanders supports brutal totalitarian regimes that persecute Catholics and deny any human rights to their citizens.

Pope Francis and the hierarchy are evil. There is no other explanation.

Creepy Francis takes a break from celebrating the Muslim invasion and rape of Europe to dabble in U.S. politics.

Agree that Francis is an agent of evil. He actually thinks the Muslim invasion of Europe is a good thing. Apparently today he personally transported some recent invaders from Greece into Italy.

Perhaps he gets off on all the media reports of migrant rape of European women, girls, and boys.

"When I came down, I greeted them, shook their hands and nothing more..."

Does the Pope come down and shake hands with most people he sees along the way? If so, there is nothing political here. If not, there is something political here.

I thought for sure this was satire. Sadly it is not. It is the story of the Communist Pope meeting the Communist U.S. Presidential candidate. Birds of a feather flock together...
