Ted Cruz sweeps Wyoming Republican Convention
CNN ^ | 4/16/16 | Dan Berman

It's a Ted Cruz sweep in Wyoming.

Cruz won 14 of 14 Republican National Convention delegates up for grabs at the Wyoming state convention here Saturday. The crowd here was clearly in Cruz's corner, as the Texas senator was the only candidate to make the trip to Casper -- ahead of a major snowstorm -- and Sarah Palin, scheduled to speak for Trump, previously canceled.

Same thing happened yesterday in Indiana but it can’t be made official till May 3. Makes no difference if Trump wins the state the party bosses got together and gave Cruz 56 delegates to 1 one Trump. Talk about disfranchising the voter. Lord almighty. Welcome to the Social Republic of Indiana, where the GOPe rules. The difference in Cruz and Trump is simple. Cruz can’t win anything without help from the GOP. Trump wins with the voters. Big difference. That’s why if the election is rigged for Cruz on the 2nd ballot and he gets the nomination after Trump has more delegates going in and millions more votes Trump supporters will sit out the election. Makes no difference anyway. Cruz has no chance on earth of beating Clinton. Only one that does is Trump and the GOP would rather see Hillary Clinton win than Trump. The country will go to hell but their rackets are safe for a few more years.

This is all a silly show. If by chance Cruz secures the GOP nomination, then the Dems will quickly find a judge who will rule that Raphael is a “Natural born Canadian” who is ineligible to be President. Supremes will tie 4-4, lower court wins.

It is really tiresome to hear Trump supporters use Dem talking point words like 'disenfranchisement'.

Try to put emotions aside, and look at this as a disinterested observer. The explanations of how everything that happened in CO is really legitimate are way too convoluted for anyone who does not have a vested interest in that particular outcome (Cruz won) to pay attention to. The perception is that CO voters had no say in the delegate selection and that the GOPe selected the candidate.

And in public discourse, perception is reality.

Don't kid yourself for a second that the Democrats won't jump on that, big time.

Trump represents a new party

Kind of like Ross Perot.

Trump does well in Orange County, Riverside, and San Diego. Lots of moderate Republicans, but not many delegates. Cruz does really well in LA county. Not many Republicans, but LOTS of delegates.

Call it a stealth party, hiding behind the R label, and of course the difference is he can win.

And also remember Trumps appeal, simply saying what people already believe and want, knowing at this point the GoPe will never do the things they promise.

The perception is that CO voters had no say in the delegate selection . . .

. . .based on lies put forth by Trump supporters who falsely claim disenfranchisement. The bottom line is that Trump delegates could have shown up at the precinct caucuses to win seats at the convention, but they didn't. Trump could have set up a strong organization, but he didn't. He could have had a campaign director set up months in advance and leading his supporters through the caucus process, but he didn't. Trump could have showed up at the Convention and given a rousing speech urging voters to vote for his delegates, but he didn't. The Trump campaign put forth a less than mediocre effort, and it cost them. Yet instead of learning from their mistakes, they want to blame others, which is exactly what Democrats do.

Great news, but not surprising, as WY republicans are actual conservatives and understand the urgency of electing a true constitutional conservative as our next President.

“Nobody cares? What if Trump is 14 delegates short at the convention?”

It doesn’t matter — if he finishes 14 short on the first ballot and loses the nomination on the second, he’ll just bitch and moan about how everybody was out to get him and call for riots in Cleveland. And of course, his cult will gleefully oblige.

I was on the fence for quite a while because I was fooled by Cruz, I once thought he actually cared.

Call it a stealth party, hiding behind the R label . . .

A stealth party started up at the recommendation of Bill Clinton - husband of Democrat Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton, and potential White House occupant.

and of course the difference is he can win.

Trump hasn't won a majority of the vote in any state yet. His disapproval rating is nearly two-thirds - the highest disapproval of any Presidential candidate in US history. And with all his whining, there is nothing to indicate that he can reverse this trend.

So I'm not seeing how Trump can win. Even in the primaries so far, Hillary has received more votes than Trump. And we haven't even counted New York and California yet.

There wasn’t cheating in Nevada. You should probably read up on how things work in the Nevada GOP. We have a solid process.

I was definitely pro-cruz before Trump got in— and then I was pro-cruz, thinking him and Trump would form an alliance.. but the dishonesty got to me— and I don’t so much mind the dishonesty as the fact that he insulted our intelligence saying things that anyone who spent any time absorbing the facts would know was a complete misrepresentation..

I’m saying it is wrong to rig the game by turning it into an insider’s game with less than 1% republican participation, and where those insiders are all aligned for one candidate. It’s loading the dice. Doesn’t take a “ground game” when the game is rigged in your favor.
