I can’t wait to register ‘Independent’ in PA after the Primary. I’m soooo done with GOP!

So the grass roots activists who volunteer, put in their time for years are now “corrupt politicians”? Methinks thou dost not know who delegates are. They are normal folks, many of whom are Freepers, committed to the the conservative cause. They are also very well-informed people who are simply not falling for the newly-minted conservative Trump.

If they are working for their own interests, justifying it with talk about how they "put in their time for years", instead of promoting the intentions of the electorate, then, yes, they are corrupt. They just don't realize it yet.

“Even if they come in a distant third, a top campaign aide tells me, they will still, they believe, pick up more than half the delegates there.”

That makes as much sense as awarding a candidate who wins 50% (+ 1 vote) all (100%) of the delegates, thereby disenfranchising 50% (- 1 vote) of the voters who voted for another candidate(s).

“The only difference for this primary season, is that the facade collapsed, and we’re seeing what goes on.”

You are correct. Not only that, we are seeing some here on FR defend, actually DEFEND the pro-establishment pigs at the trough GOP tactics.

It’s quite unbelievable. Hypocrites all around have been exposed. All around.

The delegates are DIRECTLY voted on by the voters. How is THAT ignoring the will of the voters?

Know the delegate rules don’t post stupid stuff.

“The sad thing is that the Cruz supporters boast of this as if it is a good thing!”

Isn’t it amazing? I just shake my head at how proud the Cruzers are to tow the GOP line and prop up/be funded by the GOP establishment. It’s sickening really.

I just SMH

We elect representatives who then go vote their conscious. Sometimes we disagree with their decisions. That’s the way the Founders established our Republic.

Sounds great, but that isn't our current system.

We have two "Parties" who have different packaging but have the same ownership, and I don't mean the citizens.

Representatives voting their conscious means supporting positions that their owners tell them to support (Obamacare, Amnesty, Omnibus Spending Bills, etc.).

The term "Elect" has been redefined to include voter fraud and circumventing the will of the people (remember Thad Cochran 2014?) Our system is no longer citizens controlling government, it's government controlling the citizens. It's all about power and retaining that power.

In terms of the primary season, these non-election elections have occurred in the past. The difference now is the exposure brought by one candidate, and seemingly, a majority of the citizens are finally seeing the process for what it is.

” because the GOP will lose Rubio’s Senate seat as well.”

And McCain is losing to a Democrat in Arizona. Good job GOP! Yes, the GOP that the Cruzer’s celebrate is screwing up in so many ways.

Unbelievable.

Well any delegates Cruz wins will become unbound again when he drops out in a few weeks.

Cruz won't drop out. He will keep going to the bitter end, even if it means the end of his political career.

As a kid, Cruz must have played in the league where everyone was awarded a trophy and there were NO winners or losers, and no one keeps score.

“Isn’t it amazing?”

Yup ... the mask is coming off. It’s getting to be very clear that many Cruz supporters have no problem losing the election, the important thing is their candidate wins the primary.

Normally I would agree but Cruz probably has enough street smarts to realize at some point he needs to try to salvage his career in the Senate. There is going to be tremendous pressure put on him in a few weeks to drop out. If his poll numbers tank like I think they will he will really look like a fool to stay in. If Cruz does stay in it will just be a sign that he’s got problems we don’t need in a candidate.

No. Cruz never played in any league. He was the annoying condescending kid that had no athletic talent and nobody wanted on the team.

My guess is that they had trophies and kept score. Cruz, being the athlete that he is, was relegated to a minimum play player. In his time on the bench, he was probably handed a clipboard and told to keep stats. Before the award banquet, he debated with his parents that the was the MVP since he minimally played and kept stats and he filled two roles. As a result of his constant harping, they had a special MVP trophy made just for him. At the banquet, he declared victory and gave his MVP speech after everyone left.

Ted Cruz lied his way into a Texas Senate seat the same way he’s doing right now in the Presidential contest. So please don’t call him a Texan he is not a Texan.

I had initially thought Trump was the best candidate to fight Democrat fraud. However, he was evidently negligent in fighting Cruz at the state party level with respect to recruiting delegates, establishing a post-primary presence, and hiring attorneys to decipher the 50 state rules. Trump is a good campaigner and understands the media, but this weakness in managing a so-called ground game does not bode well in a general election, unless he has learned a lesson from the Republican nomination process.

“This is fascinating. I don’t remember a primary season like this one ever.”

Agreed! Because the race has been close and may not be decided until Cleveland, we are seeing firsthand the sausage making that goes on at the local levels...the jockeying for delegates...lots of horse-trading and arm-twisting...politicking in the age of smart phones and Twitter!

So you put your time in at the RNC and feel entitled to cancel 10,000 or 50,000 votes per delegate? That’s totally condescending BS.

And how Texan’s didn’t support Ted? Do the ones who know Lyin’Ted the best dislike him so much? Cruz’s lack of his support in TX is rather telling.

“A Smart Politics analysis finds that Ted Cruz’s 43.7 percent showing in Texas marks the lowest support ever recorded by a Republican presidential candidate in a home state victory out of more than five-dozen campaigns to win their home state since 1912.”

Donald Trump will not perform poorly in his home state NY where he has never held political office. He will do very well, and rightfully so.
