Shepard Smith: Former NY Senator D’Amato Told Me RNC Will Change Rules to Give Kasich a Shot
Breitbart ^ | Apr 20, 2016 | Aaron Klein

Posted on 04/20/2016 10:32:32 AM PDT by detective

On his Fox News program last night, Shepard Smith revealed a conversation he said he had with former New York Senator Alfonse D’Amato in which D’Amato was quoted as saying that the Republican National Committee will change the rules to give Gov. John Kasich a shot at the nomination.

That would make sense. First, get as many delegates as possible away from Trump. Then, force a second ballot. Then get Kasich into contention and possibly get him the nomination.

I have wondered why people are paying to keep Kasich's campaign going. There can be no other possible explanation other than Kasich has a real chance to be nominated at a brokered convention.

I would not be at all surprised if the GOPe throws both Trump and Cruz under the bus at the Republican Convention and gives the nomination to Kasich and make Rubio his VP.

It would be the closing chapter of the Republican Party.

D’Amato hasn’t been anything in 18 years.

Only problem is the rules will be written by Trump/Cruz delegates. Not going to happen.

This is the main reason that I want Cruz to remain in the race until the convention. Between Trump and Cruz, they have enough votes - if they work together - to keep the GOPe from changing the rules to benefit their candidates. In short, if Trump and Cruz can put aside their differences they are better served by keeping rule 40 in place for all votes. If they do that, then the GOPe has no chance of putting in any of the existing candidates or a dark horse as all rule changes have to be approved by the floor by a majority.

Only the Pubs could be that tone deaf. If this happens, they should re-name themselves the Washington Generals and be done with it.

When Kasick voiced his support for pedophile bathrooms in NC, he set every RINO heart a-twitter...

I am beginning to believe this is the last chapter no matter the outcome. The sides seem irreconcilable this time.

Will not happen. Look for Kasich to drop out before the convention.

I bet lots of people tell Shepherd Smith all kinds of nonsense just for the lulz. I would.

D’Amato is 78 years old, he left office in 1999, and Kasich is just somebody he remembers from a previous century.

“Shepard Smith revealed a conversation he said he had with former New York Senator Alfonse D’Amato in which D’Amato was quoted as saying that the Republican National Committee will change the rules to give Gov. John Kasich a shot at the nomination.”

Now THERE’S a rock solid source: Shep Smith SAID that FORMER Senator D’Amato SAID the rules will change.

I’m pretty sure one could take that information to the bank!

Attention all, the delegates are the one’s who write the new rules for this convention and then the whole convention votes to accept or reject them.

If Kasich is the Republican nominee, I will write in Trump or Cruz. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE would I vote for gun-grabbing socialist faux Christian like Kasich.

Not all Cruz delegates are for Cruz. Most are State Party GOP #neverTrump and loyal to the party bosses not Cruz.

It was not “we did it #Cruz” it was “We did it #neverTrump.”

They are not bound to him after that first vote...
