(CNSNews.com) - Republican Donald Trump, appearing on Thursday's "Today" show, said transgenders should be allowed to "use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate."
"So if Caitlyn Jenner were to walk into Trump Tower and want to use the bathroom, you would be fine with her using any bathroom she chooses?" host Matt Lauer asked Trump.
"That is correct," Trump said.
Asked for his view on the North Carolina bathroom controversy, Trump said the state has "paid a big price" for requiring transgenders to use the restroom that corresponds with their biological sex.
"Leave it the way it is," he said.
"One of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday, saying 'Leave it the way it is right now.' There have been very few problems. Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they're going through with all of the business that's leaving and all of the strife, and that's on both sides -- you leave it the way it is.
"There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble. And the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife, and the -- the economic punishment that they're taking."

Trump said he doesn't know if he has any transgender people working for him. "I probably do, I really don't know."
Trump noted that there's a "big move to create new bathrooms" for transgenders.
"First of all, I think that would be discriminatory in a certain way. It would be unbelievably expensive for businesses and for the country. Leave it the way it is."
I don’t read the comments about North Carolina that way.
I read them as capitulation.
You do not jail the victims, you jail the doctors whom perform the procedure illegally once it is made illegal.
Only a monster would want to punish the woman talked into the abortion as well...

This notion of "let the private sector decide it's own bathroom rules" is like saying "let the private sector decide who it wants to serve at it's lunch counters."
Stop. Just stop it. Stop trying to pretend there is an easy non-confrontational way out of this. Stop pretending that there is going to be a non-government-forced-down-your-throat-choice. There isn't going to be any such choice.

The public visiting the private establishment can then decide if they should patronize the business or not based on that policy.
Or whether or not they want to patronize a baker that doesn't bake gay wedding cakes.

I don’t like this comment of Trump’s, but it was a massive gotcha question, nothing more. I never expected Mr. Trump to be that good on sex issues in the first place, but with the way the SC is going, he’s not going to have much of an effect on them anyways.
Ultimately, this is a weapon that the enemy is trying to use against us. There WAS no right answer to that question.
At this point I am coming to the realization that political solutions are simply a pipe dream. Too much momentum has accumulated behind the forces of destruction and our chance to throw the brakes has long past.

The problem is not that I haven’t made things crystal clear. The problem is that you refuse to hear the truth. Just like any typical liberal.
Ted Cruz said it’s a 10th Amendment use that he’s opposed to as a Texan.
He is hardly pretending. He is stating the case that the courts should NOT be deciding issues like that.
Remember, Cruz is a constitutionalist, since its not defined within the constitution, it technically IS a states rights issue.
That does not make him pro-choice or not pro-life, it means he is consistent in what he is saying.
Trump of course, is NOT a constitutionalist, and is a populist. He blows whichever way the wind blows.
In the case of transgender folks using the same restroom as people of the opposite sex, he blows the direction of the liberal mind, because he is a liberal.
